Summary: The thesis examines the phenomenon of the transfer of Basque in a community bilingà ¼ and of the Autonomous Basque Country. In this case, Lasarte is the municipality that serves as a reference for the study of the transmission and development in a context marked by profound social, political, economic and cultural relations. From decades ago Lasarte was moving towards a progressive deterioration of its relationship with what had been its majority language, Euskara, when starting in the 1960s - are beginning to arrive in the locality many immigrants from different regions of the Spanish State . This flow will not stop until year
1980. However, in just 20 years, the profile sociolingüstico of people had changed completely: the Basque language had disappeared from the public sphere, the family transmission failed, the language was at its lowest levels of social prestige. Furthermore, apart from the aspects relating specifically to the language, other elements emerged as axes of the new social dynamics: some desbordaban limits of the municipality (in the case of the situation imposed by the Franco or intensive industrialization lived in the whole basque area), others more directly affected in the local area (the sharp population increase, urban chaos, the lack of local government, the major shortages affecting utilities, etc..). In these circumstances, an image of crisis and disruption emerge from the community. Based on this diagnosis, the thesis makes a detailed x-ray of all aspects (lingüsticos and not lingüsticos) involved in the recent history of Lasarte in order to apprehend the keys they would have behaved in the process of recasting and reinvention and they would have allowed a gradual but slow recovery not only of Basque and the values attached to the tongue, but the community as such. In setting this thesis radiography bet by the use of tools that allow expose speeches so far muted and interpretations usually omitted from the conventional stories. With these tools conform a look at the theories that feminist prism generizado and qualitative techniques as ethnography, biography and autobiography have become the tools for rewriting the history of the community and its evolution sociolingüstica.
