Summary: The thesis focuses on the description and analysis of social representations and practices witchcraft as a leading cause of infant death (0-1 years) by groups of family mazahuas living in misery. It also notes the relationship of these representations and practices with traditional therapies and allopathic medicine. Since witchcraft is motivated by strong feelings of envy, it is observed interacting with poverty and mortality.
