  • GENETIC TRANSFORMATION OF FICUS LYRATA WARB. WITH THE GENE PSAG12-IPT

    Summary: It has developed a protocol for genetic transformation Ficus lyrata Warb. Using Agrobacterium tumefaciens. This consisted of: i) precultivo of leaf explants during 48 hours in the middle EF ii) immersion for 2 minutes in the middle MB2 with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain LBA4404 of iii) cocultivo in darkness for 24 to 72 hours; iv) regeneration in the middle EF with 100 mg / l of Kanamycin (kn) applied 48 hours after cocultivo; v) development of outbreaks in the IFI with 100 mg / l kn vi) rooting for outbreaks in the middle IA0, 5 with the same concentration of kn. The transgenic lines were characterized by PCR, and the resistance to kn test X-Gluc. The expression of transgen PSAG12-ipt produced morphological alterations with a varying intensity. There was a wide range of phenotypes with delayed senescence and tolerance to water stress and salinity.
  • STUDY OF NATURAL VENTILATION IN GREENHOUSES. APPLICATION IN FACILITIES FOR CULTIVATION OF FLOWER EXPORT IN THE SAVANNA OF BOGOTA (COLOMBIA)

    Summary: This research work was carried out in the first instance characterization of structural models for greenhouse Colombia, analyzing the results of an exploratory study which measured 2007 hectares covered under greenhouse. Second was performed structural analysis of the three most representative models for cultivation of flowers. An analysis of ventilation through CFD as establishing conditions border opening window, the air temperature outside, the velocidd and wind direction, gaining 180 cases simulated. We graphical and numerical analysis for each case and combinations between different boundary conditions, obtaining flow ventilation (m3 / s) and values of air (h-1), making the validation of the simulation analysis digital images using a scale model 1:10. The results show the impact of climate in the foreign liabilities of greenhouse climate control through natural ventilation and suggests some recommendations as to the optimization of natural ventilation in the greenhouse traditional Colombian.
