Summary: The investigation deals with the medieval design from the standpoint of geometric knowledge of the era and its specific application to graphical representations of Gothic design. The thesis makes a revision of the treaty geometry to be known at the time of the Gothic world, exploring the new meaning that takes the design from the geometrical interpretation. The graphic representation is used as an instrument approach to knowledge and Gothic is the delineation of a special apse heptagonal. In the cathedral of Tortosa can be a recognition of the project Gothic through three different stadiums, the promoter and their knowledge, design teacher with the trace of a scroll and the factory as a final conclusion of a specific model with dual ambulatory. The geometry and design are present in the medieval cathedral Tortosa through the original documentation File Chapter, setting the knowledge that both the developer through the Chapter Gothic as the teacher could have the ars of the quadrivium and that the thesis studies and develops. Among the manuscripts relating to the geometry the n fourth 80 of the twelfth century, contains a Geometry environment Gerberto Aurillac an important influence on the knowledge of medieval builders. The codex n seventh 144 William Conques, the school Chartes the twelfth century, shows a representation of architectural fol. 73 (r). Finally the abacuses used for the calculation of the church calendar Breviario as the Custom Tortosa of the fourteenth century, contained in the codex n sixth 115, which form the basis of scientific knowledge of the promoter. In the file there is no trace of a cathedral built, attributed to Antonio Guarc, in addition Llibres d'Art there are different news about other designs at the start of the factory, some have been preserved, and others have been lost. Analysis and interpretation helps to understand the time in which they were constructive and traces the evolution experiment that the model of dual ambulatory of the Cathedral of Tortosa since its inception in 1347 until 1440 when it was covered by the presbytery. It examines the evolution of the chapels radial according to the news traces Gothic, supplemented with graphic elements printed at the plant, of particular interest for the interpretation of the evolution of the Catalan Gothic as it is the latest model produced. The floor of a Gothic cathedral, drawn on parchment, which was attributed to Antoni Guarc, whose analysis, through its graphic content, it has been established, a way of projecting Gothic. In its geometric layout has been deducted a method of construction of heptágono regulate more precise than those transmitted through the Renaissance, by Dürer which has reached our days. The method makes it possible to build an apse without knowing its center, whose implementation in the cathedrals Catalan is immediate, since its restructuring is done with the coexistence of Romanesque cathedrals. Reading hermenéutica the route and the comparison with the factory executed, allows for a theory of interpretation of Gothic design, linking the plant section and lifted its structural system, can make the simulation of the trace. From this theory of knowledge Gothic, and since its geometrical interpretation, it has been able to establish a chronology of parchment, as the classic historiography and documentation of the books of the factory could not do. The methodology developed to establish a new hypothesis of the model's initial header Cathedral Tortosa generated towards 1347. The reading of the factory and the conclusions of Guarc allow venture factory with a section much lower than in other Catalan Gothic, structure 5 / 9, as construction of a large room similar to five ships. The idealized model would be the conclusion of some of the expectations that historiography had wanted to acknowledge the Gothic m 8 eridiona on the 2nd l unification space and a constructive rationality.

Summary: The thesis is an analysis of evil known as involuntary within three collections of stories marking the literary path of Nathaniel Hawthorne, namely: Twice Told Tales, Mosses from an Old Manse and The Snow Image & Other Twice Told Tales. The study consists of several chapters. The first is called the problem of evil: a theoretical approach is a reflection on the dilemma which seeks to show that evil is not only a choice of the will, but it is also a pridisposición natural person, an uncontrollable inertia in her to act and feel in a manner contrary to what should or would like to. The second, entitled Evil in Hawthorne: hindsight, offers an overview on the different ways in which it has dealt with the question of evil in the work of the American, since the profiles from some of the most outstanding literary landscape until the nineteenth century with the main arguments that critics of the twentieth century has tratdo of evading the topic of evil. The third chapter called Evil involuntary Hawthorne, collects, on the one hand, the vision of the problem have yielded before other critics and try on the other hand, justify the presence of one in the writer's work through a dual track : biographical and literary. Finally, the chapter with the title The stories, places special emphasis on the forces that led the author to the individual doing wrong inadvertently.

Summary: Â What is the point now read novels? Or rather, Do you sense that read contemporary novels? Because you can always find a reason to read the classics, even in these times díficiles domindos by flows and digital telematics. Â What is the point, on the other hand, read novels that speak of our present, our lives, the world we inhabit? Do you manage to give an alternative view to that of the other media? In conclusion, Â can interpret the novel, encode, formalizing the paradigm shift that involve new technologies? Â Is there still an irreducible specificity literary or disposition of the novel is to spread the flow of communication, appropriate forms diluted in the large multimedia mix and have a role only residual or defense of a glorious past? To understand whether the social function of literature has been exhausted or just changing it can not be analyzed in the abstract, as if the novel had lived and live in a closed world, autonomous and self. It should be contextualizarla, delineate an area where it manifests itself clearly. In this essay here is the metropolis.

Summary: This thesis wants to address the issue of housing since the tenets of the architecture of Alejandro de la Sota, who pose the concept of lifestyle: a clear link between homes and way of life, which enables the relationship between interior and exterior and promotes coexistence inside the house, or spaces collective. To that end, the investigation deepens in the study of four housing projects collective Sota. In reality, they are groups that get single-family housing, for the goodness of the approach, transformed into collective: Residential Set in the Mar Menor, Housing Santander, Urbanization in Calle Velazquez Madrid and Urbanization in Alcudia. These proposals have in common have been raised as prototypes and have not built, which has led to the existing documentation on the four projects is small and scattered. Therefore, research has emerged since his return, conducting a thorough analysis of the proposals and providing unpublished material for future research. We have completely redrawn projects and models have been made, both to each housing as a whole in the fall, to compare and interconnecting spaces that the four proposals raised and well, with this additional documentation, to be able to move so more faithful to its interpretation. The thesis is structured in four chapters (each project), and each has been divided into two parts: the Project Alejandro de la Sota and restitution. The first part shows the original documentation and explained the project from an objective level, with direct references to the drawings and memoirs of Jack himself. In the second, the new documentation is presented and interpreted the project in relation to other architectural proposals, either by other authors, or the same Jack. Finally, after the analysis, it raises a series of reflections on common themes: issues such as tapestry and fabric, space or diagonal sequence space, aspects always present in the architecture of Alejandro de la Sota.

Summary: The land use as a construction material has been common in many parts of Spain until the middle of the last century, and the use of clay as an outer skin or inside buildings or mud fence was a common practice, especially in the submeseta north. Unfortunately, today, this practice has become unpopular, only a small fraction of the population keeps tradition and cares about maintaining these embarrados renovándolos periodically. Despite this there are many examples of buildings that persist land for centuries, to characterize the architecture and the urban landscape in the nuclei of some rural counties. The lifestyles have changed, rural exodus has caused the abandonment of many buildings and people no longer devotes equal time for the care and maintenance of buildings. The continuity of these techniques and their application are being increasingly threatened by a shortage of awareness of the various professions on which today's fall of construction work and maintenance of buildings. Ignoring the emergence of new problems and pathological processes. This work is intended to give technical support for the use of embarrados (consisting of mud and straw basically), examining the use of additives (stabilizer) lates synthetic and their advantages or disadvantages when applied to plants of a different nature as adobe walls , murram bricks or ceramic. The aim is to improve the durability of mortars traditional mud and straw, always bearing in mind that even increasing deadlines, always will be a constructive element replacement.

Summary: This thesis explores the role of the people in the novel espñola nineteenth century, on the assumption that the literary work is conditioned by the social relations dominant at the moment that arises and echoes them, developing an ideology contributing to the defense of interests of some kind, usually dominant. This means that the role novelesco is conditioned by history: specifically the need for their help with the other two classes sociale -nobleza and burguesía- to maintain or impose respctivos socioeconomic systems advocating over the entire century. For demostrrlo provides an introduction -180 folios- in which studies the intervention of the people, and then -920 folios- discusses, in a body of 123 works, the image of him that develops novel. ROLE HISTRICO .- The people, the fourth state, is one of three social classes ls. Their presence in the sociopolitical events will be a constant over the three periods in which divides the century. In primro (1800-1833) - the role correponde primarily to rural acting in the service of nobility that is used as the shock force to preserve the harassment of liberalism to the Old Regime. In the second (1833-1868), is the bourgeoisie which tries to attract its orbit. In the third (1868-1900), become proletarido, with its newly acquired class consciousness, lies in combating the Restoration system, which will lead to the two former warring parties to narrow differences and close ranks against the common enemy . ROLE NOVELESCO .- Their presence in the novel is conditioned by their historical role. In the first period, although plays is not the only - which the nobility trdiocional convenient to preserve the Old Regime. In the second predominates is interesting to the bourgeoisie, which needed him as an ally in order to consolidate the victory liberal. In these two priodos people acquire a respectable presence in the pages of the novel, although his presenia is infintamente least in the last period. In return there is a new influx novelistic that echoes their own class interests; surge novel proletri, significtiva as evidence that a new historical phenomenon finds literary testimony, but unimportant, cunatitativa and qualitatively. Broadly there are four, therefore the treatments of the people on the novel of the century. Each corresponds to the interses class of the respective flows novelescas echo, all of them are the product of an ideological development. It thus fulfilling the central hypothesis of this dissertation: the different images of the people who appear in the novel to largo del siglo always respond to the interests of the other two classes and will vary depending on historical events and the acquisition of his own class consciousness by the proletariat, consecuancia also of the same events.
  • CHIKI: HOUSING TOTONACA

Place of preparation: ESCUELA TÉCNICA SUPERIOR DE ARQUITECTURA DE MADRID.
Summary: This work is raised mainly as a connection between anthropology and architecture from the pre-Columbian origin known and gives a good overview of the historical evolution of about lifestyles and the permanence of some of the basic elements of mythical and ritual culture totonaca. Somehow many of the findings in his spatial relation to what you live every day, are transposable to the organization of other arqutiecturas most current and perhaps is a way to recover some dimensions of the relationship between man. To request permission to nature to exploit its resources is not exclusido of Totonacas. The place inside the house forefathers, grandmothers, connections with other dimensions of the nether world, etc., are concentrated in housing, which is not just a building but the heart of the life and death of an individual or a family. Many other civilizations we had and unfortunately we have lost so much that we are independent or even superior to it. The author's knowledge that the perception of architectural space, is performed through all the senses and is linked to acts (rituals) that the man performs in her womb and the symbolic value it assumes each of those, there is always presents. The single area of the Chiki, has its fixed points symbolic linked to the important moments of life and as a whole varái meanings in each of them. It is noteworthy that presents information graphically, ralizada sometimes by themselves totonacas. The methodology is very clear already from his basic approach, exposing the assumptions that led him to getting the job done orderly and perfectly consistent with the goals and acotaciones visual and conceptual field of the thesis. Treatment generally starting with a historical overview to the materiality of space in the various versions that currently exists to go after giving the myth and ritual associated with them, and sometimes enduring despite the change "category," material , and use the same formation is a good way to attack the problem. Moreover, the analysis of each case is also made through the basic qualities of architectural spaces almost indeferenciados physically but with different shades of meaning depending on the time spent by its inhabitants, the understanding of the cosmos as a particular house taking place in the lives of generations of individuals who agrees with the analysis much of the architecture is defined as living, and even transcends, it is of considerable interest. The rest of the methodology is as I said very clearly, very good acotando every relationship, but may err sometimes taxonomist. The presentation of the literature, summarizing and commenting that it might be more unknown to be more espceífica thematically and geographically clearly intended the theoretical framework in ql that moves the honoree and the background in which it is based. The rest of the literature is always correct and more than enough to bring the concepts arquitectónicso and philosophical to be used for development work.

  • THE BROCHURE LANGUAGE COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS (FCIE): CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS (GERMAN-) BY TYPE OF ISSUER AND SUBTEXTOS
    Author: FERNÁNDEZ SÁNCHEZ FRANCESC XAVIER.
    Year: 2004.
    University: POMPEU FABRA.
Place of defense: DEPARTAMENT DE TRADUCCIÓ I FILOLOGIA.
Place of preparation: UNIVERSIDAD DE BARCELONA.
Summary: This argument raises the objective, relevant in relation to both the practice and teaching of translation, to account for the conventions of FCIE in both languages outlined. In doing so, provides a contrastive analysis of gender Hispanic area of translation studies, where such analysis is not too common, as opposed to the German area, which has a specific discipline, textología contrastive (Kontrastive Textologie) devoted to study interlingüstico of textual genres. Those conventions, primarily related to the functions and persuasive directive, are treated by type of issuer, as it takes a public or private (peuniversidades) (peacademias), and by subtextos, ie constituent units of text junior him and defined functional semantics and formally. In that sense, the analysis of FCIE part of the general hypothesis that the conventions of that genre differ to a lesser extent between copies of the same type of issuer from one language to another that copies between different types of issuer within the same language. In an attempt to verify this hypothesis, and in accordance with the method of texología contrastive as a discipline in which falls this paper, this analysis applies to a body bilingà ¼ and homogenous and representative of parallel texts. According to the method also mentioned, that corpus composed of 100 copies (50 per subcorpus (German and Spanish) distributed equally between copies of public and private issuer), is under consideration successively at extratextual or pragmatic ( qualitative terms) and level intratextual or lingüstico (in quantitative terms and from a perspective of both intralingüstica as interlingüstica). Analyzed extratextualmente according to a functional model itself, the FCIE, since persuasive prospectus, is distinguished by integrating actions in the service of communicative functions persuasive, and referential directive. Intratextual level, the analysis of FCIE, guided by assumptions subsidiaries of the general hypothesis mentioned above, focuses on the macrostructure of this genre (who introduced both groups subtextos defined by the above three functions), as well as their recurring segments textual (cuyoo degree of conventionalization is inversely proportional to the character more or less persuasive the subtext that records) and the elements at the service of the three related functions. With regard to the latter, and in particular the persuasive and managers, persuasive prevailing in the sucorpus German, copies of private issuer of both languages, and the subtext devoted to the city where the courses are held (within the subtextos persuasive). As to the elements executives reveal behavior complementary to the persuasive, since there are so prevalent in subcorpus Spanish and copies of the public issuer of both languages, as well as in the subtext for the general conditions of enrollment (within the subtextos managers). Together, the elements that perform all three functions characteristics of FCIE recorded conventional values (present at least 50% of the corpus), which are considered by many more examples of different types of issuer within each language that copies of the same kind of issuer from one language to another. It is, therefore, confirm the hypothesis put forward in a general principle, but overall overlapping frequencies distinguish by type of issuer into each other subcorpus, as are those that determine the primacy of the respective elements persuasive and managers in copies of private and public issuer and of a different language.
  • THE FOUR ELEMENTS AND SEAMUS HEANEY: FROM THE GREEK COSMOGONY TO COSMOPOÉTICA OF THE SPIRIT LEVEL (1996)

Summary: The objective of this Doctoral Thesis is the analysis of the symbolism of the four elements -tierra, water, air and fuego- in the poetry of Seamus Heaney, as well as science itself and symbolic tradition. The first chapter tracks the various tenets presocráticos the theory that part of the four elements, and discusses the evolution of complex and revealing to the same theory cosmogónica to move from theory simbólico-literaria. Also, setting out a desk study on the symbol, which affects from the literary practice on those aspects that are most appropriate for a first approximation to the poetics of the elements of Seamus Heaney. The second chapter deals with the state of affairs with regard to the four elements in the Irish author's work, offering the major interpretations of this symbol has literary criticism. These interpretations resulting ultimately in the discussion of the evolution of poetic Heaney and the various stages that criticism has acknowledged in his poetry: a first stage earth, followed by an airy phase or phase air. It discusses the inconsistencies of this dichotomy, and provides a review of the evolution heaneyiana based on the balance and tension between the elements. The four elements in the traditional symbolism is the topic discussed in the third chapter. It analyzes the key values and anti symbolic of land, water, air and fire, emphasizing its ambivalence and the different valuation of the same in the traditional symbolic speech. We review some aspects of this symbolic tradition where inconsistencies were found, offering an alternative vision of the symbols of the four elements from a global perspective, including socio-cultural and gender aspects. The fundamental objective of this chapter is to know the place they occupy in the symbols and literature, so enabling us to further disruption or union with respect to the elements in the work of Heaney. In the fourth chapter uses the broad framework of references breakdown in the previous chapters to implement the study simbólico-formal of The Spirit Level (1996), the second book of poetry in the most recent prolific production of Seamus Heaney. It emphasizes its relevance to the reevaluation of the work of Irish described in the second chapter, as well as the pre-eminent place that it took the images of the four elements. The approximation is multi-focal: analyzes the elements separately, in pairs and in cuaternidad. Following the nomenclature simbólico-elemental of Gaston Bachelard, there are several complex symbolic relating to one of the elements: two complexes in symbolic relation to the land, for Antaeus (root earth) and Atlas (yoke field); complex symbolic Moyola ( music) and zahorí (delicuescencia underground) water, air complex of Hercules (elevation, release, weightlessness), and finally, the complex Apollo (light), Hestia (fire domestic) and Ares (fire warlike) imaging igneous. We emphasize those aspects in which the poetics of Heaney was away from the traditional symbolism, so idiosincrásico of them, and underlines, in particular, the dialectic symbolic: the balance, or rather, the quest for balance-statism typically antiheaneyiano-, the constant movement between the elements between the earth and sky. This is what is called Janus complex symbolic: the heights dinamizadas by the depths, the bottom transformed into high, the close and complex symbolic association between ascending and descending movement. Finally adds a section of that link and final conclusions contrast with the widespread symbolic particularization heaneyiana, the cosmogony of ancient Greece with 8 the cosmo 464 poetry of Seamus Heaney, in which the footprint simbólico-helénica is especially outstanding in their recent works. In these final conclusions remains an appendix with literature on the four critical elements in contemporary literature with a section on various electronic sources Seamus Heaney on the Internet and an alphabetical index of authors and subjects. Summary: This dissertation is a theoretical and critical interpretation of the texts on the Holocaust testimonials of four authors who, in different ways, witnessed the traumatic experience of the Nazi concentration camps: the French Charlotte Delbo and Marguerite Duras, and the German Margarete Buber-Neumann and Ruth Klà ¼ ger The thesis aims to register as an input to a particular section emerging from studies on the Holocaust (namely the field of studies on women and the Holocaust, which adopts a generic point towards understanding the event and its representation), while a contribution to the more general study of literature about the Holocaust, and trying to show that supply a missing link so far is on the receipt and analysis of these texts. The body of evidence has been selected without the intention to be a survey of philological data, but with an objective and critical theory, ie, each author has been chosen on the basis of a specific problem developed in his writing. Thus, the thesis discusses theoretical problems like the paradoxes and difficulties identified by the conditions of production of gender affirmation, particularly in relation to the current readings of the Holocaust; analyze the possibility of such a representation in terms of gender; representation in pain as symbolic system that originates from a personal experience, the system on which occupies a prime representation of a body materiality of that experience, the transformation of the space occupied by the victim as an object in a voice of a sujeto-testigo with agency own status as a genre hybrid of testimony, not on the borderline between fiction and literary creation, between the historical and factual veracity developing subjective. The thesis is trying to emphasize the fact that some of these issues belong to each author individually, some are unique to witness the representation of women, and others are general questions that can be found in all problematizadas texts on the Holocaust. The most notable findings of the investigation pertaining to double or paradoxical nature of different aspects of production conditions and receipt of this type of textualidad. First, the witness survivor of the Holocaust must assume the dual task of conveying the character of annihilating experience concentracionaria, while individual states as a subject in its text, acting against the Nazi project. Secondly, the work of Charlotte Delbo is an example of duplication of reports to be submitted to a witness who tries to use the language to express their experience. The processes of identification and transfer own testimony resulting from the reflection on writing Marguerite Duras, who works to abolish the rigid and static binary oppositions in which the traditional story of the war, to reveal the subjectivity witness as a class relational performativa. An analysis of the texts of Delbo and Buber-Neumann comes an appreciation around the voice that is presented in the testimony: a voice that is distinctly individual characteristics but, given the essentially moral of this kind of text, can not be separated from the voice of the other. Finally, the thesis describes the complex fabric of temporality that is at stake in the testimony, especially in the analysis of the work of Klà ¼ ger, who in the game between the narrative and discourse moves the memory from the enunciation on the past, to bring to the forefront their consequences on the present. Taken together, all these issues are due to the feminist project to give voice to witnesses who have been silenced, but at the same time reviewed and reinterpreted major general problems of writing Holocaust.

Summary: Sources suffer monumental phenomena biodeteriro mainly due to the development of microalgae. The microalgae are agencies fotosinteticos very heterogeneous causing damage in different stone materials from sources, due to the formation of biofilms and cobalt carbonated. In this paper we study the biodeterioration sources in different locations, the real alcazares, Seville, and alambra and bibatauin in Grenada. In each case identified the genera microalgae present, and provided the general characteristics of the cobalt biogenicas. To prevent the colonization of microalgae on monuments as sources, were studied various artificial materials, synthetic resins and compounds marble dust. These materials were subjected to physical and chemical evidence, in addition to a test of biorreceptividad. In view of the results obtained, will carry out a survey of the surface qualities of the materials proposed, as well as microalgae involved in processes of deterioration. The results obtained revealed that the artificial must be redesigned specifically mortars. Moreover, we need to develop analytical methods for its application to the study of microalgae.
