Summary: This work is a study of landslides. Of sns determinants. The hazard and mitigation measures of risk. The main objective is to propose working methods applicable in risk management landslides in urban areas. The Sola d'Andorra. Natural context in which the work. A maximum slope of lOOOmde gap and 5km2 extension located in a valley glacier origin. At the bottom of this slope is the city of Andorra la Vella (Andorra). Where landslides have caused problems in buildings more exposed. Over the work have developed four types of analysis are: areas of landslides. The susceptibility to reach. The danger and risk. The development of these tests is a process of progressive work on knowledge of the phenomenon. The first three tests have been used as measures of risk prevention. Resulting in different zoning maps of the terrain. The latest analysis, covering the risk. It has been used for the design of structural measures or protections. The analysis of the landslide areas (areas of land that have been affected by landslides at some point in the history geomorphological) has been carried out by geomorphological and geological techniques. This analysis has revealed a fast-prone areas to danger. The susceptibility to reach (potential for an area of land could be hit by landslides triggered from a rocky slope above) has been analyzed by applying an empirical model, for a zoning map of the terrain as five levels of susceptibility. The assessment of dangerousness (probability of occurrence of a potentially destructive phenomenon in a specific time period) has been produced from the integration of the frequency and magnitude classified in three levels (high, medium and low) in a table or matrix As a result of dangerousness has been granted a zoning of land according to four levels of dangerousness (high, medium. low and very low). Finally. Protections are designed in terms of energy absorption and maximum height with the objective of protected elements have a residual risk acceptable. It is regarded as a risk scenario in which elements are exposed persons living in the interior of the buildings and it has been proposed that a frequency less than 10-4-10-5víctimas/año be considered as a level of acceptable risk. The developed method offers the possibility of applying objective criteria and free heurísticas approaches for the assessment of dangerousness. Design protection and risk management.
  • HISTORICAL FLOODS IN CENTRAL SPAIN. CONDICIONANTES GEOMORPHOLOGICAL AND CLIMATIC

Summary: The objectives of this thesis has focused on two main aspects: the analysis of the flooding from a historical perspective and its meaning at the basin level. Historical analysis has helped frame the floods in its framework climate, not only today but in relation to their temporary fluctuations and their possible relationship with wet and dry periods. Moreover, it has been interpreted by the other aspects that affect the fact that they generate or not flood level river itself. That is, geomorphological characteristics of the drainage basin to determine that, compared with certain climatic conditions, the responses of the basins may be different. This has been studied regression and correlation of the flow not only with precipitation, but with the morphological parameters of the various sub-related.
  • STUDY GEOMORPHOLOGICAL AND SUSCEPTIBILITY TO ESTIMATE FLOWS AND LANDSLIDES DERRUBIOS ROCKS IN THE VALLEY BENASQUE.
    Author: ACOSTA ARIAS ENRIQUE.
    Year: 2006.
    University: ZARAGOZA [www.unizar.es].
Place of defense: FACULTAD DE GEOLOGIA.
Place of preparation: INSTITUTO GEOLÓGICO Y MINERO DE ESPAÑA.
Summary: The study area is located in the NE tip of the province of Huesca, in the so-called Axial area of the Pyrenees and has an area of 297 km2. This thesis has been made geomorphological study of this mountain area at 1:25.000, devoting special attention to sackungen and two types of rapid movements of slope: flows derrubios (debris flows) and detachment of rocks (rock- falls). The honoree has been involved with a grant from the Institute of Geological and Mining Spain (IGME) in the Project DAMOCLES (EVG1-1999-00027P) V program funded by the EU framework, with researchers from the universities of Newcastle (UK), Milan - Bicocca (Italy) and Padova (Italy), and CNR-IRPI Perugia (Italy), CNR-CSITE Bologna (Italy), IPE-CSIC Zaragoza and own IGME. Through the implementation of some models that have been developed in Project DAMOCLES has estimated the potential of the study area to be affected by flows and landslides derrubios rock.
