Summary: The continental margin of North America has been the subject of numerous geological and geophysical studies due to its crucial records of the evolution of plate tectonics the Caribbean and oil deposits in the sedimentary basins along the sidelines. SIn hand, the details of the oceanographic and climatic changes are obscured by the lack or poor quality of outcrops in many areas and the effects of successive stages of tectonic deformation. This study reconstructs the evolution of sedimentary cronoestratigráfica and paleocenaográfica the Cariaco Basin during the Late Miocene to Pleistocene delayed by analyzing the sedimentary sequence exposed in the West Araya peninsula in northwestern Venezuela him.
