Summary: Interest in determining a possible climate change because of the obvious influence in society, has prompted a series of studies related to climate sea level, because it can be a good indicator of this change. The objective of this work has been the analysis of the changes in average sea levels in different coastal areas of the Iberian Peninsula and Southern Europe, variability in the past decades and also the influence of some factors such as weather. This will have analyzed the most important aspects of the sea level change in different locations, both quantitatively and qualitatively, trying to establish common patterns and / or differentiated according to the characteristics of the area. It has been determined behavior in the long term sea levels and trends have been characterized as their most significant cycles, both annual and long term, we found that there is great variability in them. Through the method of multivariate functions Ortogonales Empirical the tide gauges with similar responses have been grouped into 5 clusters characterize each zone by 1 or 2 modes that bind in each case the 75% of the total variance of the series in each area. These methods have been used to identify the relationship between fluctuations in the sea level and indexes teleconexión weather such as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), the index of the Western Mediterranean (WeMO), and the concentration of atmospheric CO2 on a global scale . Similarly have studied the relationship between variations in the heights estéricas ascertained from the series of hydrographic Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), and changes in sea level, establishing a methodology that can be interesting in future work.
