Summary: The concepts rely on modern bio the importance of defining property rights potential to be carried out within the context of management. The fisheries research should consider local expectations of researchers, managers, wholesalers, industry, the general public, and meet the communities or fishermen. Based on this assumption, undertake a bioeconomic analysis of the coastal fishery of Pernambuco, northeast Brazil, addressed to the line fisheries and networking background. It can be viewed as part of a regional planning project, under the peculiarities of social, economic and cultural found, the low Human Development Index (HDI), and the importance of social inclusion of fishing communities. The primary objective was to implement a fishing bioeconomic model developed for fisheries Mediterranean Sea Norte-occidental, MEditerranean FIsheries Simulation TOols - MEFISTO (Simulation Tools Mediterranean Fisheries), justified by some similarities between coastal fisheries of this region and the State Pernambuco (species diversity and gear, seasonal variations of the catch, marketing, the dynamics of fleets, etc.). The model enabled extract significant contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of coastal fisheries, making it possible to reproduce the general conditions of the activity as well as simulate alternative strategies of management. It was also possible to observe and analyze economic conditions, in order to achieve sustainable development of the activity, so that future generations can also benefit from the resource. To achieve the objectives, questions were raised involving these aspects: Do you current planning and management measures for coastal fisheries are suitable to the local reality?  Is there a need to remove the pressure / effort of traditional fisheries and diversify activity for other resources and / or fishing areas? and  Is there any feasibility for investing in coastal fishing? Thus, the assumptions lifted, considering strategies to carry out management measures are: The importance of bio-economic models and adapt to the fishery management of small-scale existing biomass current levels of estocs fish economically important are worrying and there is a need to diversify the existing fisheries and the activity of small-scale fisheries should be a priority of government policies for sustainable development of fisheries. The proposed study was developed to support assessment procedures to be applied to establish the limits potential in the development of scientific research. Certainly, much work is needed to refine a bioeconomic model for the management of coastal fishery of Pernambuco, but with adjustments and careful analysis was possible to obtain significant results and information for the management of fisheries. The use of bio-economic models for the valuation of these fisheries shown to be a very important tool for the administration, for the definition and implementation of management strategies for the development of fisheries; for the community 8 scientificall 32b ica, which may improve knowledge the population dynamics of the estocs fishing studied, and for fishermen to improve their fishing strategies.
