Summary: This research deals with the scientific and technical analysis of an area in the Andes in Merida, Venezuela, which from 2800 m (3000 m) and up to 5000 msm, contains the environment and vegetation in wasteland. The wasteland, according to LUTEYN (1999), has been reported in tropical and equatorial regions in areas such as Mexico, Central America and South America, Africa, Malaysia, including New Guinea and Hawaii, and is defined as a kind of vegetation that occurs between the upper limit of vegetation or continuous line of closed forest (known as timberline), and the upper limit of life of the plants, namely the snow line imprisonment. In these strips of land 'Vegetation Paramo' is characterized by the dominance of plant forms that have evolved under the action of intense pressure and climatic factors, which in turn are accented by the altitudinal gradient. The tracks Andean lake and Andean llaneras, and the foothills of the Cordillera de Merida, complete our working scenario. In this context addressed the proposal to assess the bioclimatology and establish floors bioclimatic and vegetation. With this big goal was a work that involved the review of a substantial amount of background information, as well as field activities to obtain data themselves and generate valid information to be used in the study raised and developed in this thesis. Based on the definition and delimitation of the workspace and the objective, the site is undertaken to revise the characteristics of the territory, the current uses of it, the flora, vegetation potential, climatology, geology, geomorphology and soils, the revision of the biogeographic latest proposals for the region and its own confrontation with the data from this research, analysis bioclimatic on information from the strip under review, the definition and delimitation of bioclimatic floors, the study physical - chemical soil in the area of wasteland, the development of floristic catalog, the definition of the proposed vegetation in the area paramuna of the Sierra de La Culata and Pico El Gavilan, and finally, the description of The Landscape Paramuno . Keywords: Flats Bioclimáticos, vegetation, soils, Paramo, Merida, Venezuela.
