Summary: Interest in improving levels of efficiency is, for years, a goal in any government program, and although this objective is applied as a general premise in any field, is easily visible in the area of education. Testimony to this is the introduction of educational reforms in a large number of countries, which address such concepts as "educational productivity" or "accountability". In its empirical part, this research makes three applications. The first one evaluates the performance of education systems from an international perspective. Subsequently is discussed in more detail the Chilean case. It identifies levels of efficiency border and relate them with the results of the third empirical application that evaluates leadership styles of managers of establishments primary; to see how far these styles of leadership exerted a direct influence on the efficiency of production education.

Summary: SUMMARY Since the theory of social capital, identifies Nonprofit Organizations, as organizations with the potential to generate social capital community. On the other hand, from theories focusing on the economic analysis that looks at the Nonprofit Organizations, the study shows that confidence is the competitive advantage that these organizations have with the rest of institutional options to provide certain outputs to consumers. For what is of interest to analyze, from the sphere of strategic direction, what are the mechanisms to obtain and sustain competitive advantage of these organizations. Insofar as the Non-Profit Organizations are able to sustain their competitive advantage, it will be possible to develop their potential to generate social capital community in a given society. As far as establishing a link between the theory of resources and capabilities in an evolutionary context to the management stakeholders, from the concepts equity and absorptive capacity. Against a background of constant change, the sustainability of competitive advantage for organizations is based on the continued creation of new resources that are valuable in environments that are happening. Thus, organizations must develop the capacity for absorption dynamics, ie the ability to identify, assimilate, combine and exploit the knowledge to be developed in the system. The structural dimension of social capital, which is dependent on its network of links that the organization establishes and maintains with the various stakeholders, allows you to have more information, which may have an impact on the ability to identify and assimilate valuable knowledge. Similarly, management stakeholders, to develop relationships and cognitive dimensions of social capital, which derive from the membership of a cohesive group within the system, which may provide lower transaction costs in the process of integrating knowledge with the other stakeholders, and thus affect the ability to combine and exploit the knowledge gained. The empirical part is performed on Nonprofit Organizations, through a case study. The adaptation to the objective of the research is justified on the basis that the case study is a methodology designed to thoroughly understand the dynamics present within individual scenarios and discover new relationships and concepts rather than verify or check propositions previously established.
