Summary: This thesis seeks to establish what are the effects of the globalization process exercised in peripheral regions of low or very low level of economic development, as is the case in Chiapas, the poorest state of Mexico and displaying the worst indicators of welfare the average per capita income across the country, a situation that is exacerbated in the municipalities that have a higher aboriginal population. The study of the debate on globalization, we are led to the need for further analysis of the economic performance of Chiapas, trying to analyze how they were processed internally trends of globalization in an institution where the bulk of the economically active population engaged in agricultural activities, which has a very artisanal manufacturing sector and also in the industrial sector, the two industries most important public of Mexico had played a significant role, how the case of Mexican oil (PEMEX) and the federal commission electricity (CFE).
