Faced with this change so drastic in the entrono companies seek to evolve from a product-focused models to models focused on the customer, or to the enterprise networking. Almost all these transformations toward companies cliente-céntricas have been based on technological implementations of the so-called CRM. And the result is that the rates of failures in the implementation of CRM in business according to some experts arrive to 80%. Faced with such an important issue, given the level of investment already made by the companies as well as the change in the current competitive landscape, companies raised as make the transition beyond the simple purchase and installation of applications. This study aims to identify key variables that influence the transformation of a product company to an enterprise customer, based on two key elements: a view of the customer signature and the level of technology in the enterprise. Using qualitative research techniques, case studies mainly with in-depth interviews, an analysis of the situation in several Spanish companies, selected for their diversity in the implementation of technology and its influence on subsequent processing, investigating all the elements that influence the process: human resources, leadership, decision-making processes ... But to understand the complexity of succession directive is necessary to build a complete model that integrates the causes of the succession and the consequences of that change. Although the literature indicates that the yields influence the determination of the change manager, the variance explained by the yield is very low. It is therefore necessary to take into account the influence d a number of variables moderating as the existence of mergers, the composition of the council motion control shots and the power of CEO, in order to assess the incidence of performance in the determination change managers. On the other hand, takes into account both the succession in the first rank, CEO, as the changes in the management team. Therefore, after the management changes were noticeable changes in strategy, structure, distribution of power and control systems, allowing a change of direction or strategic realignment to enable improved yields of the company. The data analysis is essentially quantitative but also conducted a preliminary analysis of cases to check priority between change management and strategic change. The results confirm the importance of change management for the implementation of strategic change and improvement in yields of the company, supporting the arguments of the theory of resources unit and the theory of resources and capabilities.

The study period was five years ( 1996-2000). CAUSES AND DETERMINANTS OF THE GROWTH OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISESAuthor: MORENO MENENDEZ ANA MARIA. Year: 2004. University: SEVILLA [ www.us.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD CC. ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Summary: This research paper examines the causes and determinants of the growth of small and medium enterprises. The investigation is grouped into three major blocs, corresponding to the different chapters considered. The first set was devoted to the theoretical foundations. It is a revision of the main approaches and theoretical perspectives that have studied and studied business growth. The second section is devoted to the realization of an empirical investigation whose purpose is to analyze the main factors explaining the growth of enterprises, in line with several previous investigations carried out over the last decades and in many countries. To undertake such research has been used economic information financial 6692 SMEs Andalusia, for a period of four years, in particular realized between 1998 and 2001. This information comes from the Central balances Andalusia. This empirical study relates the growth of the company with five dimensions: the size, age, sector, financial structure and existence of idle resources. For each of these dimensions are proposed for the hypothesis. The third block, based on a sample of 434 SMEs Andalusian, and he discusses the relationship between orientation and entrepreneurial growth through a model d quota. Based on the studies Lumpkin Dess and on the concept of entrepreneurial orientation and its relationship to performance, this research proposes a model analysis configuracional, where the entrepreneurial orientation influence on growth but through the strategy. But in turn, the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and strategy and between it and growth will be influenced by environmental variables as variables related to the resources and capabilities of the company. The collection of information has been carried out through a postal questionnaire addressed to the general manager or chief executive of the company. The statistical technique has been employed structural analysis, PLS. It develops a model containing constructs of the first order, second order as well as interacting variables. Finally, in a final chapter, sets out the main findings, limitations and future lines of inquiry. THE INCORPORATION OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL IN THE VALUATION OF COMPANIES: A CASE STUDY IN THE GENERAL SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM IN HEALTH COLOMBIAAuthor: LÓPEZ AVILA CÉSAR OMAR. Year: 2004. University: SEVILLA [ www.us.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD CC ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Summary: The valuation of companies has acquired in recent years great importance because, among other reasons, by the globalization of the economy, development of financial markets, increased international competition and the corresponding enterprise internationalization. Moreover, from an internal point of view, assuming that the goal of any organization is to create economic value, the VE can measure the results they produce business decisions in the long term, hence their growing importance for the management. In practice, to make a proper assessment of a company, it is advisable to use at least at least one pricing model, as these deficiencies among them is not to include variables Intellectual Capital, given its importance in generating value, according to the specialist literature. Therefore, after analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various methods of valuation articulate a proposal based on the inclusion of indicators of Intellectual Capital and real options to improve predictions on the cash flows and simulation of future scenarios for the company respectively. To contrast our proposal, it has developed a field study in a leading company in the health sector in the Republic of Colombia. Thus, we intend to evaluate, compare, identify and conclude how the inclusion of variables makes IC in the development of cash flows, as well as the VE itself. Also deepen in research on real options as an alternative method simulation complimentary to the Cash Flows Descontados, to suppose situations are envisaged to be able to deal with managers in the future and that decisions are impinging on the economic value of organization. Accordingly, we have seen that the inclusion of indicators of Intellectual Capital in projecting cash flows and the application of improved real options valuation of knowledge-intensive enterprises. DETERMINANTS OF THE DIVERSIFICATION STRATEGY RELATED: AN APPLICATION TO THE SPANISH INDUSTRIAL COMPANIES.Author: HUERTA RIVEROS PATRICIA. Year: 2004. University: COMPLUTENSE DE MADRID [ www.ucm.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD CC. ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FAC. CC. ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES.
Summary: This thesis docotal, try answering the following pregunta. What are the determinants of diversification strategies related? To answer this question, we conducted a genral theoretical framework for the study of diversification. Subsequently, we discussed some theories studying diversification strategy, such as: Theory of Industrial Economy, Theory costs Transación Theory and Theory of Agency Resources and Capabilities. However, following the analysis of these theories we focus on the study of the Theory of Industrial Economics and the Theory of Resources and Capabilities, considering that are theoretical perspectives that are closest to the diversification strategy related. From them we identified some of the determinants of our estategia under study, we raised the assumptions made and the specific model. For constrastar our model we use the Survey Business Strategies. The period of analysis is the nineties, 1991-2000. It produces an index to measure own diversification and its direction, however, is currently used by the public through the database used. We determine a sample of 2907 observations of diversified businesses panel incomplete and a subsample of 1,611 comments from firms diversified panel altogether. Using logistic regression Binomial discovered that there most likely that companies are in sectors more concentrated, more profitable, presenting excesses R & D bigger tend to pursue a strategy of diversification related. THE INFORMATION AS A RESOURCE STRATEGIC KNOWLEDGE GENERATOR. ONE FOCUS OF RESOURCES AND CAPABILITIESAuthor: GIL SOTO ESPERANZA. Year: 2004. University: LA LAGUNA [ www.ull.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONOMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONOMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Summary: In this thesis we approached the study of information technology (IT) from the perspective of the approach of Resources and Capabilities, trying to highlight their role in the organizations that carry out strategies of knowledge management and emphasizing the role of a technology especially important during the generation of knowledge: the data warehouse (DW). In the study of IT and its impact on the company's performance, the Model Resources and Skills is not an area of knowledge and interpretation only, but has advocated, particularly since the second half of the 90, occurrence of various subcorrientes theoretical who have acquired entity itself. Among these trends highlights the so-called Knowledge Management, among other things, deals with the analysis of the impact of IT in the creation, dissemination and knowledge management. The role of IT as a tool to generate knowledge, is based on the reasoning that such appeal is associated with this information and the data processed and stored in information systems operational organization. Based on this assumption believe that, from the intangible resources derived from IT with which the organization, knowledge represents one of the most active potential competitive. The DW technology configured as a single, complex, relatively new and that implies a large investment. Its potential lies in the ability to generate sustainable competitive advantages derived from their properties to store, process and transform data and information both from the operational environment or from outside the company, useful knowledge and valuable. In order to analyze the factors of success of this technology we develop a model of research and conduct an empirical study in the area of financial institutions and Spanish from the perspective of the advanced users of the system, ie users who access the DW to carry out complex analysis tools kind OLAP, data mining, etc.. The methodological process we took to develop the measuring instrument was proposed by Churchill ( 1979) for the construction of scales of measurement. For treatment of the data we use the technique of multivariate analysis based on structural equations. As a result of the general thesis that we set in the Spanish financial institutions analyzed, advanced users feel that the quality of information contained in its previous DW along with adequate infrastructure, increases their satisfaction so that they achieve facilitates knowledge strategic. That motivates them and drives toward an efficient use and operation of the warehouse. In this process, and to the extent that users are satisfied with the knowledge they gain also increases the perceived benefits of the system. These advantages affect different aspects that have to do with the optimization of processes, the definition of strategies that improve customer relations, innovation for the development of new products and services; declining costs of improved management financial risk, or reducing the time and effort required to develop certain tasks related to the management of information (reports, documents, etc..) or decision making. AFECTOS MANAGEMENT STRATEGY AND INFORMATION PROCESSING. AN APPLICATION TO THE DECISIONS OF RESOURCE STRUCTURE AND EFFICIENCY OF THE BANKING SPANISH (2003)Author: DELGADO GARCÍA JUAN BAUTISTA. Year: 2004. University: BURGOS [ www.ubu.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD CC. ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD CC. ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Summary: The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of emotions managers in choosing a strategy for information processing and reflected in the composition of the resource structure of the companies that run and, ultimately, in their results. The strategic interests of the discipline to know the origins of the discretion of managers has encouraged the development of various lines of inquiry that seek to justify the formation of their decisions according to their more rational explanation. Recently, however, is to emphasize the need to complete these explanations giving input to the analysis of the most emotional component of the individual. These arguments latest and weak empirical evidence that supports them, justify the focus of this research to deepen the analysis of the impact of the affections of the direction in its strategic decisions. To do so, the study reviews the recent approaches in the area of cognition, have tried to justify the consequences of affection in choosing a strategy for information processing and selective perception of the individual. The revision of these justifications, along with the approaches of traditional lines and research in cognition managerial Upper-Echelons and corporate governance, we have served as the basis for developing the model on which reflects the influence of the emotional traits of management, along with its background and cognitive mechanisms of corporate governance in the formation of structures resource corporations conduct, and finally in their resultados.La application of the model to the Spanish banking sector has enabled us to conclude that the traits of affective managers influence the levels of innovation and the development of the intangible entity. Moreover, the emotional traits are also relevant in determining the level of heterogeneity of the structure of resources with the general trend in the sector, which would be reflected in the final analysis in accordance with the results of the average sector. Summary: With the emergence of information technology and communication, public and private organizations are faced with a new model of competence and management, and must find new sources of added value to be exploited to meet the criteria of efficiency and effectiveness that require them their customers and shareholders, which in the case of the AAPP are citizens. However, the goals and means of the latter are not the same as in private sector organizations, because of their particular characteristics, but there is a tangible rapprochement in their strategies and in their practices directivas.En Specifically, the same the concept of "e-government" and "e-government" still lacks a precise definition, taking into account all perspectives strategic, organizational, and political covered. In addition, varies depending on the values, goals and principles of culture critics to agents affecting, as are their own government (G2G), citizens (G2C), business (G2B) or employees of the organization implant these practices (G2E). The same applies to the various stages of maturity that this phenomenon develops, we can find numerous models in the literature. These relationships are especially intense at the level of local administration, being the most directly is in contact with members of the society. All this leads us to argue that there is a new and interesting field of study, both from a theoretical point of view as practical. This dissertation is working on a project that aims at national describe and analyze the practices and strategies undertaken by municipalities Spaniards, thereby identifying the key strategic modernization of these institutions arising from the introduction of new technologies. Thus, the main question is whether these measures are based on technological upgrading genuine strategic perspective on the part of municipalities to implement, or whether on the contrary practices are isolated and attempts. To do so, first, there was a theoretical review of the relevant literature on e-business and e-government, respectively, with special attention to the ideas provided by the Theory of Resources and Skills and Strategic Direction as a source of decision making business. He then has developed a portion of empirical research in which, using as a field analysis of the Spanish municipalities of more than 5,000 people (10 and 20 classes according to the INE) of Spanish territory possessing official website, he examines how strategic development of e-government at local informations. Among the major findings and input we can highlight the significance that political commitment is in the strategic development of the town hall, checking the existence of different degrees of maturity of e-administración local Spain, and the need to implement a new organizational culture that allow posting principles of the information society in the Spanish municipalities. THE CREATION AND TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE SPANISH SUBSIDIARIES OF FOREIGN MULTINATIONALS. INFLUENCE ON THE PERFORMANE OF THE MULTINATIONAL.Author: ZARAGOZA SÁEZ PATROCINIO DEL CARMEN. Year: 2004. University: ALICANTE [ www.ua.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. To do so, based on a review bibliografíca based on estrategíca leadership, the vision of the company based on knowledge and theory of the multinational company makes a number of assumptions and is developed the theoretical framework integrating all of them, which empirical contrast will be on a population consisting of the whole of Spanish multinaionales foreign subsidiaries belonging to a technology-intensive sectors and knowledge. The results confirm that some of the subsidiary characters, the organizational design and knowledge developed internemente impact positively and significantly to knowledge creation in the filaiales and suposterior transfer to the rest of your multinational corporation. So adicioanl, the dual role held by such subsidiaries (as creators and spreaders of this knowledge) also shows that affects positively and significantly on the performance of the multinational as a whole. THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AS A SOURCE OF COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE. ANALYSIS OF THE CONGRUENCE BETWEEN THE ENVIRONMENT, THE STRATEGY AND STRUCTURE AND ITS IMPACT ON BUSINESS PERFORMANCE.Author: PERTUSA ORTEGA EVA MARÍA. Year: 2004. University: ALICANTE [ www.ua.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS ECONÓMICAS Y EMPRESARIALES. Summary: This research seeks to analyze, first, from a theoretical point of view, the role exercised by the organizational structure as a source of competitive advantage, making it to a review on the merits and characteristics that define the same, and also of possible sources of competitive advantage. It follows that an important source of advantage compettitiva can be found in what is called organizational setup, derived from the proper consistency or adjustment between certain organizational structures and strategies in competitive environments specific individuals. Based on this idea, then analyzes the complementarities between these three elements, focusing in particular on the dynamism and uncertainty of enrono, competitive strategies, fiferenciación for innovation and leadership in marketing costs, and the formalization, centralization and complexity of the organizational structure to distinguish between functional and mechanical structures. This analysis stems from the assumption that companies quese find adjusted according to theoretical models championed by the quota approach, obtain better results than those that do not follow these trends adjustment. All this is reflected in a theoretical model consisting of nine working hypotheses that are contrasted empirically on a sample of large Spanish companies. Thus, in terms of empirical will first describe issues related to the research methodology used, the characteristics of the study population, the instrument used parala collection of information and variables statistically and techniques employed, and then the results reflected the constrastar the theoretical model, emphasizing as one of the main conclusions consideration of the role of the organizational structure as a potential source of competitive advantage.
