NUTRITION AND FOOTBALL: IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROGRAM OF NUTRITIONAL INTERVENTION.Author: IGLESIAS GUTIÉRREZ EDUARDO. Year: 2004. University: OVIEDO [ www.uniovi.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE MEDICINA. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE MEDICINA. Summary: Information about the state of players is limited, but the available data indicate that, in large measure, does not comply with the recommendations set for athletes, so it should be promoted in this group about healthy eating habits, in order to optimize the performance and reduce the risk of developing health problems short (iron deficiency disorders of appetite, deshidrataciónâ |) and long term (cardiovascular disorders, osteoporosis, certain types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, etc.). It is therefore necessary to evaluate the subject in the different situations in which routinely conducts its food, ie valuing the usual intake at home as well as intake in concentrations for matches. However, the assessment of dietary intake of an athlete does not define itself by its nutritional status and their eating habits, it is necessary to obtain additional information through the analysis of body composition, and hematological and biochemical analysis of the functional assessment of performance through specific test football, as well as using questionnaires on attitudes complementary skills related to food. From this information, we believe that the design and implementation of an intervention program in nutritional footballers will contribute significantly to improving their nutritional status and their eating habits, as well as their knowledge and attitudes toward nutrition sports. THE GOAT MILK IN CHILD NUTRITION: A SOURCE OF NEW FUNCTIONAL INGREDIENTSAuthor: LARA VILLOSLADA FEDERICO. Year: 2004. University: GRANADA [ www.ugr.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE FARMACIA. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE FARMACIA. Summary: INTRODUCTION The best form of nutrition for the baby is human milk, as it contains not only the nutrients necessary for the proper growth and development of the baby, but also a large number of bioactive components with significant benefits par newborn health. When breastfeeding is not possible, I used it is necessary to infant formulas and thus the main objective of the research in the field of infant nutrition is to adapt these formulas to human milk trying to imitate its functional effects. European legislation currently supports only cow's milk and soy as a source of protein for the preparation of infant formulas. However, the use goat's milk in infant nutrition was common until the late nineteenth century, when he suffered a major discredited because of the inconvenience easily solucionables at present. The goat milk has a number of advantages over the cows that make it more similar to the human, such as the high content of oligosaccharides or higher digestibility of proteins. OBJECTIVE use goat milk as a source of functional ingredients or as a model for changes in the components of infant formulas with the aim of reaching the beneficial effects of human milk. METHODOLOGY have been used several animal models to evaluate the benefits of goat milk in allergy and inflammation in the gut, as well as to analyze the mechanism of such effects. In addition to the thesis reflects different in vitro assays to test the bioactivity of oligosaccharides and pépetidos derived from goat milk. RESULTS In our animal model, goat milk has been shown to be less alegénica that the cow, inducing a lower lymphocyte response rate Th2 cells, which could be of great interest in the primary prevention of allergy to milk protein and in subsequent phenomena of allergy. This effect could be due to the lower proportion of a1-casína in goat milk, as our results show that reducing the proportion of casínas from cow's milk is reduced allergenicity. We have also found that in the milk of goats there any component, still unidentified, which induces the production of IL-10, cytokine involved in the process of oral tolerance. Moreover, goat's milk oligosaccharides have demonstrated a significant impact on the prevention and recovery of intestinal injury induced by dextran sulphate. This beneficial effect is due not only to the ability of these prebiotic sugars but also their anti-inflammatory effects. CONCLUSIONS goat milk ingredients exist, such as proteins, peptides that derive from them and oligosaccharides, which could have a beneficial effect on the defense newborn versus allergic process, infectious and inflammatory. The addition of these ingredients in infant formulas could improve bowel function of the newborn. NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS SPANIARDSAuthor: Mariscal Arcas Miguel. Year: 2005. University: GRANADA [ www.ugr.es]. Place of defense: Departamento de Nutrición y Bromatología. Place of preparation: de Granada. Summary: It has raised the following objective: To determine whether diet and physical activity are factors that modulate the body balance children and adolescents. This would have raised other partial objectives: 1) Evaluate the frequency of food intake (FFQ) of this population. 2) Evaluate the nutrient intake of the population. 3) Rate parameters antropométricos and body composition. 4) Rate Test physical and physical condition. Among the survey's findings highlighted that the results of questionnaires frequency of consumption of food and remembrance of 24 hours do not allow for distinctions in the study population, while the level of physical activity has proven to be of interest as a factor modulator the balance in the body composition of the population under study.
NUTRITIONAL SURVEY OF PATIENTS OLDER THAN 65 YEARS SUBSIDIARY OF ENTERAL NUTRITION, ADMITTED TO THE GERIATRIC UNIT OF AREA HEALTH III ASTURIASAuthor: GARCÍA GARCÍA RAIMUNDO. Year: 2006. University: LEÓN [ www.unileon.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE VETERINARIA. Place of preparation: UNIDAD DE GERIATRÍA FUNDACIÓN HOSPITAL AVILÉS. Summary: At the International Conference on Nutrition, the World Health Organization in 1992, was recognized for the elderly as a group very vulnerable population from the nutritional point of view. Following the resolution of the Council Europe 2003, it was estimated that malnutrition among hospitalized patients in Europe ranged from 30 to 55%. Enteral nutrition is an alternative to the problem of malnutrition, where the food can not be carried out routinely and in situations that the patient requires additional support nutrition. We studied the nutritional status of patients older than 65 years, entering the Geriatrics Unit Area Sanitary III of Asturias (Foundation Hospital Aviles, from the Hospital Saint Augustine). Just as they were subsidiary of enteral nutrition. In a second phase, we see if it influences: health, functional status and nutritional parameters (zinc, selenium, albumin, total protein, cholesterol, vitamins A, B6, B12, C, E and folic acid). He used a nutritional screening suitable for a elderly population, key measurements were: 1) clinical side: pillars of the Subjective Global Assessment Detsky. 2) Appearance functional: based on the Barthel Index. 3) Scoreboard immune: total lymphocyte populations. 4) Biochemical parameters: prealbumin, transferrin, albumin and total cholesterol. (We studied the C-reactive protein and iron metabolism, in the cases that had confounded by the prealbumin, and transferrin. Conjunction with a blood biochemistry and general). It was subsequently conducted a joint nutritional Valuation individual in the context of acute and chronic patient at the time of admission. Study type Observed Phase I and Phase II cross descriptive: analytical Cohortes. Done during the months of January to May, 2006, n = 330 patients, 59.4% women 95% (54.1-64.7). Average age: 81.2 years (65-99). |
