Summary: This thesis is devoted to the study and modeling of flow in the interior of capillary tubes adiabáticos refrigeration equipment operated under the vapor compression cycle. The resulting model is based on numerical techniques for integrating conservation equations in volume control along the capillary tube, in order to determine how much mass flow can travel through a capillary tube which has a specified size and operates under special conditions. It is motivated by the desire to raise a general calculation model that allows assessment for the variety of conditions that can be found when you put in operation a cooling system. Under normal operating conditions, the flow at the entrance of the capillary tube is subenfriado, while at the outlet flow conditions are biphasic. On the other hand, if the system is poorly designed or operated with low refrigerant charge, the entrance to the capillary tube may already be in biphasic flow. On the other hand, one can find critical flow conditions at the exit of the capillary tube depending on the relationship pressure upstream / downstream of the capillary tube.
