Summary: The importance of an industry such as the use of technical textiles, and the relevance of Catalonia as a pole of the industry are some of the reasons that have led to the realization of this thesis, which has sought to provide a first approximation in an industry with a good outlook and that portend further increases in their rates of growth. Given the uncertainty that exists at this moment in the textile-clothing sector as a result of the disappearance of the quota system on imports in January 2005, the textile sector can be found in traditional textiles for use technical high road development of capacity building and ingenuity to create new products, as well as identifying new markets in a global competitive environment. The analysis of the industrial sector of the use of technical textile, its diagnosis and a competitive proposal for actions and competitive strategies aimed at those companies which are part of this industry, or want it, are the three main phases from which is the development of this thesis. The first phase takes place from the application of the methodology for structural analysis of the industry sectors MEPorter the industrial sector of textiles for use in technical Catalonia. It also provides a study in economic and financial support for the sample of companies studied that belong to this industry. The economic survey shows a clear description of the industry and gives a diagnosis on it. Subsequently, identify the causes and potential consequences that flow from this analysis prior through the financial situation of companies and presents a detailed analysis of return on assets and its impact on the profitability of shareholders. In the second phase, the diagnosis competitive, takes place from positioning analysis, which assesses the position of the industry in relation to each one of the keys or future requirements described above. Then, an analysis cluster from international benchmarking with the cluster of Pas de Calais and presents a final diagnosis cluster from the comparison to the economic and financial firms use technical textile leaders of Europe. The identification of the competitive advantages and SWOT analysis complete this chapter. In the third and final phase is the discussion. To do so, compared with competitive strategies generic strategies developed by textile companies use technical Catalunya, presents an analysis of needs of the industry and made a series of proposals for action in addressing the needs identified above . The thesis concludes with the statement of the six responding to the findings of the validation justification or otherwise of each of the six scenarios raised at the beginning of the same. Of these stresses that there are opportunities for the entry of venture capital and the realization of corporate transactions in a group of textile companies use technical, that the products of this industry have a maneuverability superior to that of the textile sector - conventional garment before the opening of markets more competitive in costs, and that the comparative with the cluster of Pas de Calais, that it is possible structuring microclusters of use of technical textile companies in Catalonia.
