    Summary: The emergence of electoral leftist movements in Venezuela, because of the deep crisis of representativity of the traditional political parties, has created a new political landscape that calls into question the democratic stability that had taken the country since 1958. The aim of this thesis is to provide an alternative to explain the success of the new left-wing movements and the consequent collapse of the traditional political parties. For this purpose will use the Directional theory, a variant of the space theories to vote, applied specifically in the political arena of presidential elections in 1998.

    Summary: The origin of the investigation part of the observation of a central problem, íntrinseco the process of building community, as is the fact that the integrative force of the European Union (EU) contrasts with the feelings of minorities nationalists who live within them, and defending recognition of the sovereignty of a territory to believe that a nation without a state. Based on sta situation, the object of study of the thesis has been the discourse analysis of fourteen European nationalist parties in four EU countries (Belgium, Italy, Spain and the UK) between the period 1979-2004, namely since the first European parliamentary elections until the last. The parties discussed are: the Volksunie (since 2001 Nieuw Vlaamse Alliante), the Vlaams Blok (since 2004 Vlaams Belang), the Basque Nationalist Party, Eusko Alkartasuna, Convergencia i Unio, Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya, the Galician Nationalist Bloc, the Lega Nord The SÃ ¼ dtiroles Volkspartei, the Sardinian d'Azione Party, the Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru, the Social and Democratic Labor Party and Sinn Feín. Ultimately, the thesis attempts to study the level of affinity that causes the EU, and particularly its institutional design, among those nationalist political forces.

    Summary: This dissertation conducts an investigation rhetoric about jokes published in the Colombian press, specifically in four newspapers (El Tiempo, El Nuevo Siglo, El Colombiano and The Spectator), the time period between December 2003 and January 2004, as exponents of view, taking into account the conditions of production and contextual them. Jokes graphics seen in perspective with other texts present in every newspaper, providing a comprehensive picture of the journalistic genre. The study aims to give an account of how the jokes charts can be tools of opinion, and that is based on the analysis chart as the discursive using basically tools from the Rhetoric, since they are present in the department verbally and in the chart, and conform as constructive elements of the transmission of thoughts, views and analysis on developments.

    Summary: The study focuses on the analysis of the variability in the ideological identity of the Spanish people from 1983 to 2006 through the use of tools of fractal geometry: Exponents Hurst. The results confirm the applicability of the technique to time series derived from political behavior, detection of cycles and the presence of fractal characteristics.
