  • THE EXTREME VIOLENCE OF THE SAUSAGES. STUDY ON MULTIPLE HOMICIDES OCCURRED IN THE CITY OF SAO PAULO BETWEEN 1995-2000

Summary: This research focuses on a type of violence known as chacina. The sausages, unlike other types of criminal activities common in S. Paulo (such as robbery, kidnapping, etc.), events are absolutely lethal extended to several people at the same time. In the year 1995, the term chacina appeared defined in the "big news" of S. Paulo as "multiple homicide with three or more fatalities." This study is based on the assumption that the so-called "big news", to "discover" the daily deaths of sausages as a "wealth" which appealed to its readers middle class had highlighted homicides involving three or more fatalities from set single and double homicide that occurred on a daily basis by setting these homicides in a narrative sense and social meaning. It is composed of four parts: 1-A journey on urban violence in Brazil in times of democracy with the intention of a portrait of the context where sausages explode. Notwithstanding the democratic achievements, not violence can be summed up in a product of the dictatorship as a problem of relative importance, but translates as a serious public problem resulting, among other factors, the weakness of ideas about a state that respects the law. 2-A brief history of the study of Nucleus Research gives Violence at the University of St. Paulo on extralegal justice as a resource for conflict resolution, observed from the 80's, as introductory contextualization the subject of sausages understood as a phenomenon displayed in ajusticiamiento lethal. Retomar since the 80's was important because it was from those years that the issue of increasing episodes of violence opened space highlight the theme pair of crime in the media. 3-A "profile" of the phenomenon of sausages from the news published in selected newspapers and the stories contained in police files. 4-A phenomenology of sausages whose characterization around their specific event as having great collective violence, cruelty, and free advertising promotes a way of distinction with other forms of criminality lethal. Finally, by way of conclusion, the study indicates that although the sausages reach several people at the same time, they are not characterized as a "crime of masses" by way of massacres (Estudiadas by Jacques Semelin, 2001). However, as massacres, sausages are events no-espontáneos engendered by several writers against several people, whose personal motivations or group does not seem fitting into a factor. Chacinas and massacres, saved due particularities, are far from being regarded as mere events wild stripped of meaning and purpose. As a sociological phenomenon, in terms sausages bloody event and collectively reaching several people at the same time keep those differences as lynchings, massacres and attacks carried out by multiple individuals with psychological disturbances and requires interpretive own tables. Overall multifaceted and sobrepuesto motives and players shown in sausages by itself is an indication of the breadth and complexity of the phenomenon, impossible to be interpreted without the interaction of different approaches. As suggested Semelin for the massacres, the study explores some events must collective approaches around the strategic goals (an approach on how key players and the local community, through their personal motivations and reactions occur or not, for the development of a situation favorable to chcinas), the effects of media (on the role of media and journalistic treatment) and the conditions for the exits of such violence (on mediation and legal intervention policies, echo 8-economic, 2b5 judicial).

Summary: This research work aims to study the size técnica-productiva of the editing and production of printing press. Obey the interest on this subject to the perception by the rapporteur of a field seemingly little investigated in this country since the university level and this despite the clear and intimate relationship in the evolution of journalism and dela graphics industry.
