Summary: The aim of the thesis is to explore the fact engage in female from the perspective of the evolution of local economic policies in Catalonia. The trabajho field has been based on the universe of Catalan municipalities that between
1993 and 2002 have carried out programs or projects aimed exclusively at local entrepreneurs. It has used a methodology cualitaitva through in-depth semistructured. The survey results indicate that the policies are carried out to entrepreneurs in areas of economic promotion with a local experience of over 10 years in local and economic policies in general have been inserted in the third stage. However, this integration has been complementary and discontinuous. Anyway there is a trend towards consolidation and the will to act in this direction in the immediate future. Policies directed at women entrepreneurs in Catalonia partially respond to the theoretical formulation. On the one hand approaches and arguments to act match.
