Summary: Our working thesis deals essentially what is the incidence of social strife brought by the social organizations of Garifuna blacks in the transition from model "homogeneous nation" recognition of a "multi-ethnic nation" in Honduras. Therefore, in the work we mean by exposing "homogeneous nation" to the draft revision of the nation started from the twentieth century, which tried to build a nation based on cultural integration of índigenas, blacks and the caste values and norms of the dominant elite, either white or mixed, but in all cases, the heir to the traditions inherited from the Spanish colonial society or new inputs resulting in the "modernity", ie postulates " Order and Progress "from the positivism from Europe and the United States. Therefore "homogenized" was "aculturizar" indigenous and black, or eseñarles the Spanish language, the Catholic religion, costrumbres modern, ultimately, "civilize". In this sense, to explain the construction of the project, also presented in the thesis process "imagination" of the nation of honduras from the theoretical contribution of Benedict Anderson, who believes that the nation is a device constructed and imagined by the State or the "intelligentsias" at your service. Once evacuated this analysis, the final part of the thesis presents the main demands of Garifuna blacks around the struggle to abolish the draft "homogeneous nation," to instead compel the State to recognize a "multi-ethnic nation" , which had reached particularly in four areas: education, with the introduction of a and Intercultural Education Bilingà ¼ (EBI), in health, with the establishment of a health model with an intercultural approach, in recognition of territories, with the strength, extension and rehabilitation of their land, and eventually, with the recognition of political rights, the rule by agreeing that the Garifuna deserve equal rights to participate in national politics, but at the same time, which is an integral part of the "representations" the nation, which is now recognized as a "multiethnic" and "multicultural" as of the enactment of the Agreement Presidential n fourth 0719-EP of 1994.

Summary: It is a comparative study on party discipline in three Central American countries: Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama, which covers the decade of partisan noventa.La discipline thus becomes the bariable dependent to prove whether or not the influence of the independent variables studied, who were institutional in nature: the type of party, the party system, electoral system and the system of government. Because the issue revolves throne political parties, the variable rate is dealt parties from three aspects: the degree of institutionalization, their control are areas of uncertainty and classification. This latter aspect is based on a functional classification of its own Latin American context. The treatment of party discipline, while dependent variable, is carried out according to three data collection techniques: surveys Members of the three countries, voting at the congresses of each country and the analysis of newsworthy cases insisciplina outstanding. Overall, the findings highlight that the three countries the only variable that appears to have no influence on the party discipline is the electoral system. Also, the influence of the other three variables depends on the combination of them that might occur in each country. So the relacines between independent variables and party discipline can only stated in terms of trends. No party seems to be immune to the Central indiscipline, but the parties classified as tactical voters seem to be better equipped to cope with such a contingency of political life.

Others, however, derive from certain trends in the institutionalization of new opportunities for citizen participation. The thesis goes into these issues from the analysis of various participatory experiences developed in the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia.
