INDICATORS LOCAL POBREZA-RIQUEZA. IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTIVARIATE STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES.Author: SÁNCHEZ FERNÁNDEZ PATRICIO. Year: 2003. University: VIGO [ www.uvigo.es]. Summary: This paper carries out a review of the different jobs that, through different perspectives, have addressed the phenomenon of poverty (conceptualization, identification and quantification). Thus, taking into account the methodology developed so far, we propose a new mechanism for measuring poverty and its application to the empirical case of the autonomous region of Galicia. To address this memory content is structured into eight chapters and six appendices. In chapter 1 is a review of the different perspectives from which one can analyze poverty and the main actions that have been carried out a national and international level for correction or elimination. Based on the foregoing, it seems necessary to establish a line or threshold that allows people to differentiate who is in poverty, as a first task to carry out an evaluation of this phenomenon and is addressed in chapter 2, highlighting two approaches (objective and subjective). The different approaches illustrate the seriousness of the problem and the need to quantify: why in Chapter 3 reviews the major indicators of poverty that exist in the literature (traditional and alternative). The practical application of the concepts already seen the field of study (Galicia) focuses the objetvos Chapter 4, where it joins the complementary approach lies in the poverty analysis from the point of view of the strength of goods and services of households. Chapter 5 does a description of the methodology used for the construction of the poverty level, highlighting its main advantages and potentialities. The results achieved in the implementation of this proposed methodology of the autonomous region of Galicia are reflected in chapter 6, resumiéndose the basic conclusions of the study in chapter 7. Summary: This is a work of historical research on demographics, which examines the evolution of the population bilbaína during the Franco years. The thesis develops the following scenario: A HYPOTHESIS Claiming that the socio-economic and structural changes experienced by the population bilbaína during the Franco years, closed the modernization process initiated with the first demographic Demographic Transition and prepared the population bilbaína for its entry into the second transition demographic, which in the Basque Country has had a particular development over the past 20 years. SCENARIO B Under this scenario, between the first and second Basque industrialization, there were parallels in the behavior of certain socioeconomic and demographic indicators, which presents the second round of industrial growth as a problem of continuity and consolidation of what has already been established in the first. On the other hand, the main objectives pursued by the work itself are the following: Demonstrate that the changes and factors that caused the prices shown on demographic variables and socio-economic analysis at work, confirm what so far investigated in relation to the first industrialization in Bilbao and its metropolitan area of influence. Observe and analyze the characteristics of which were historic change occurred in the town of Bilbao during the Franco years, in respect of some of the key indicators that defined its nature and structure and socio-demographic.
