I CARACTERÍSTIQUES OF EVOLUCIÓ MOBILITAT USUAL PER TREBALL A CATALUNYA (1986-2001). L'ACCESSIBILITAT COM A VARIABLE INTERMÈDIA.Author: AJENJO COSP MARC. Year: 2004. University: AUTÓNOMA DE BARCELONA [ www.uab.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAT DE FILOSOFIA I LLETRES. Place of preparation: ESCUELA DE POSTGRADO. Summary: Â What is the relationship between access to the road network and mobility usual for work? This question, posed at the beginning of the thesis, mark the paths through which it moves through. The aim is to study the relationship between variables in Catalunya, in the period between 1986 and 2001. However, before addressing this relationship has been necessary to analyze them separately, which determines the structure of work, which consists of an introduction and three parts. While the introduction is deshilachando the original question and establishing the conceptual foundations for their development, in the first and second part discusses respectively, the accessibility and mobility for routine work. It is not until the third game when it enters into the relationship between the two, which ends with a chapter on conclusions. To describe the evolution of accessibility in the period 1986-2001 has been used SIMCAT, a geographic information system used by the Department of Policy Planning of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Due to the SIMCAT only is the road network by the year 2001, it has been necessary to establish a methodology for the reconstruction of the network in 1986, 1991 and 1996. Regarding mobility usual for work has received data from the census and population registers for the years 1986, 1991, 1996 and 2001. They are used directly micro, which has undergone a major work of purification. This cleansing deserves special emphasis on analysis of the collective known as atypical empadronamientos that, by their nature-people registered in a different place of residence, could greatly distort the results, especially the calculations of distance / time workplace. The incidence of accessibility on mobility, it is worth highlighting three conclusions: 1 - The municipalities more accessible are characterized by larger, with the resulting concentration of population and jobs trabajo-por a higher percentage of daily workers who move to another municipality for work purposes, and for a shorter distance in this move, with a saving of time. 2-A good initial accessibility facilitates the development of several variables: the municipalities more accessible in 1986 are those where more has increased the employed population, jobs and the proportion of workers who commute daily for work purposes. 3, - have not been able to demonstrate that improvements in the network varies impact on the development of population or jobs, but in some mobility and other produce. To equal the rest of variables, the biggest increases have occurred in opening the municipalities most affected by improvements to the road network, which affected, in addition, in a time savings for workers.
