Summary: In the first part of this work is carried out an exhaustive theoretical study of the response function of density waves in solids using flat and pseudopotenciales and waves flat linearizadas and increased (LAPW). By comparison, in absolute units, with measurements of inelastic scattering X-ray, has analyzed the role of d electrons, the effects of crystalline field and effects of many bodies in the transition metals, their oxides and metals noble. The second part examines the impact of exchange and correlation in the lifetime of excited electrons in metals within the approximation GW?. It also has investigated the role of the d electrons in the process of decay of these electrons.
