Summary: The overall objective of this work is to study the emulsion polymerization radicarlaria in using styrene copolymers and acetic maléico low molecular weight as a surfactant. Prior to the study of emulsion polymerization, a preliminary study was to examine the water solubility of polymeric surfactant, the type of stages that are different hydrocarbon properties interfaciales at the interface aire-líquido, and the delas formation and stabilization emulsions prepared with different hydrocarbons. The study polymerization consists of the influence of different variables in the process of particle size. Specifically studied variables related to the surfactant monomer and comparing the results with an emulsion polymerization using a conventional surfactant. Also, given the confusion between the different ways of expressing the mean diameter grains, a study was conducted comparing the techniques used for the characterization of particles (AFM, TEM and DLS). Lastly, he studied thermal properties of the polymer film obtained and by the end latex.
