THE ROLE OF EDUCATION IN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN INDIGENOUS GROUPSSummary: The work deals with the local development, discussing the role of education in development projects in indigenous communities. It focuses on the people TERENA the State of Mato Grosso do Sul and sample the indigenous community TERENA of Córrego de Meio, Municipality of Sidrolándia. Part of an analysis of the concepts and relationships of development, questioning the way in which projects are still in the area, worried about the production and not by the people, especially when it comes to development plans aimed at indigenous people. The current conception of development focuses on the human being, in the search for a better quality of life, and from that perspective, the development involves the formation and education dela own community in the field of culture, skills, competencies and skills that enable them to herself, obviously with the help of agents and external factors, agenciar and directing the process of homogenization, which recently introducing a new facet and is directed toward recognition of a plural society. In this trend, the school, and through it, school education, can be transformed into an area of border, making connections between different worlds and cultures is, a promoter of intercultural respect, self-reliance and development. This is the time lived by the investigation when the results point to a rising level of awareness among teachers, parents and students, in short, community TERENA on the importance of education as an instrument for the promotion of intercultural dialogue, so necessary local development. Summary: This thesis analyzes the local development process from business strategy for the tourism sector, and for this, addresses two main approaches. The first of these is the attempt to define a frame of reference for understanding the process of local development, articulating the vision of business organization, based on concepts of cooperation, the development of sustainable tourism, which is the local center . Finally, it seeks to diagnose the competitive dynamics of the various companies in the tourism sector, to analyze the implications of the results with the local development process. The research, developed with primary and secondary sources, indicates that both studies, in the surveyed areas of Mato Grosso do SUL, competitive performance gaps, which would recommend the formulation of local development policies with a view to encourage businesses to overcome obstacles identified.
