Summary: Through the figure of Francisco Piquer, founder of Monte de Piedad de Madrid, were first studied all aspects of his work, the foundation of the institution and its two-pronged. Economic and espiritual.El Father Piquer and their status as chaplain of the Descalzas Reales, serve to frame the situation in the Royal Foundation at the time treated, as well as to analyze the components of the application and participation in the beginnings of a hill. The second part of the research aims at the analysis of the relationship between Fr Piquer and guardians of the Mount of Kingdoms of Indias.Dichas relations and the importance of dissemination activities carried out will be the foundation for subsequent foundations: Mount de Piedad de Mexico y Monte de Piedad de Lima. The final part focuses on the analysis of the accounts of Monte de Piedad between 1703 and 1724, through which reviewed the monetary situation of the moment and reflected in the very Institución.Al same time carried out an analysis of users of Mount from the social point of view, establishing the kinds of relationships and uses to be made of Institución.Aportando further identification and determining the relevant personages who contributed to the economic and social development of the work.
