The commandments of pastoral visits were contrasted, wherever possible, with the decrees of the Council of Trent, the provincial constitutions tarraconenses and Synod gerundenses and vigatanas, in addition to the archaeological evidence and materials. All this has served to demonstrate the slowness in implementing the program tridentino, reachable, in fact, quite late (end of the eighteenth century).
