Summary: This research deals with an outline of the background of the management of human resources on the world stage, its evolution, context and trend. It also discusses activities in the field of library and documentation in Mexico, which also includes an approximation on the landscape of human resources in the libraries and documentation centers Mexicans. The thesis also plans to incorporate cutting-edge techniques for managing people, and its application in libraries and documentation centers under strategies to enable planning and anticipating future aspects of continuous improvement. Techniques such as strategic planning, management skills, analysis, description and assessment of jobs, recruitment and selection of human resources, the assessment of performance and potential, internal communication, as well as the complex issue of pay, are presented as solutions to the various problems posed by institutions documentaries.
