  • THE TALE OF GAMELYN OF THE CANTERBURY TALES: A NEW CRITICAL EDITION

    Summary: This dissertation is framed in the field of Finnish Textual Criticism and can be described as the critical edition of romance known as Story Gamelyn, a poem of 902 verses matched, written in English Late East towards the end of the second half century XIV. This poem appears only in manuscripts of stories of Canterbury, one of the masterpieces of English writer Geoffrey Chaucer. The thesis begins with some general considerations on the count in connection with the Canterbury Tales (Section 1.1). In this section (Section 1.2) discusses the major theories which attempt to explain both variations in the grouping of different stories as autoriales variants found in the different families of manuscripts.     Summary: Sacrobosco in Spanish is an interdisciplinary work that since the diacronía examines De Sphaera Mundi, the manual astronomy in Latin composed by Johannes de Sacrobosco in the thirteenth century, and their translations into Spanish of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. This thesis provides a critical edition of the versions in Spanish and a study of the text from several areas of knowledge: the history of astronomy, history of translation and the history of scientific language. Drawing on the first testimony of De Sphaera Mundi printed in Latin in 1472, has bounded the time frame in which to place the work in the next hundred years, until 1571.
