In addition to the lack of an overall perspective that articulates knowledge achieved in the various disciplines, even within our own in particular, lingüstica, prevailing uniformity and consistency doctrinales.En this context, the purpose of this thesis has been to help overcome the confusion and inaccuracy in the review of the mímesis of Spanish spoken in the literature, which has sought to make budgets from theoretical and methodological confirieran precisely as possible the study. • THE SEMANTIC PREDECESSORS OF NEED: FROM OLD TO EARLY MODERN ENGLISH

Summary: This thesis is a study about the need for semantic predecessors from the origins of early modern English to English, ie verbs that have expressed some of the meanings of English in need today. Thus, this thesis complements the numerous studies that have been published to date regarding the status of current need in English. The goal is to discover, on the one hand, as a need remains in the language, while the other verbs disappear or change of meaning, and what is the degree of gramaticalización each of the verbos-need in each period of English. The thesis consists of seven chapters: Introduction (Chapter 1), theory (Chapter 2), and data analysis of the corpus (Chapters 3 to 6) and conclusions (Chapter 7). Furthermore, the thesis includes three appendices containing the list of forms that have been escrutadas in the body, and a list of references used. Chapter 2 focuses on the description of the theoretical foundations underlying the empirical analysis, ie gramaticalización, form and faceless as the verbos-need converge on these three aspects. Chapters 3.4 and 5 analyzed periods of Old English, Middle English and Early Modern English. The three chapters have similar structures and sizes. All begin with an introduction, discussion of the characteristics of the language and the verbal system in each period. Then these three chapters focus on the semantic description of the predecessors of need from a synchronous, according to the results of the three córpora selected, which include the entire Corpus Helsinki and fragments of the Dictionary of Old English, Corpus Christi, Corpus of Middle English Prose and Verse, Corpus of Early English Correspondence Sampler and Corpus Lampeter. The córpora of Old and Middle English containing 1.2 million words respectively, while the body of Early Modern English contains 1.7 million. In total, therefore, the three córpora added 4.1 million words. The inventory of the predecessors of semantic need is not the same in all three periods. Thus, in Old English, there are four: burfan, beburfan, neodian and behofina while in the East there are six English: thurven, bethurven, neden, bihoven, durren and misteren. In Early Modern English need only survive and behove. Chapter 6 contains information synchronous offered in chapter 3 to 5 and this from the point of view diachronic, that is, describing the evolution of each of the predecessors to need over the period studied. In other words, combining the synchronic and diachronic perspective, this thesis examines data from a pancrónico. Adopting this perspective allows us to understand the complexity of current need in English. Finally, Chapter 7 provides an overview of the theory and the main findings of the analysis.

Summary: The thesis is based on a Catalan version of Dia'legs Sant Gregorío, copying done by Bernat d'ollers and completed in 1430. The manuscript comes from Santes Creus and is preserved today in the Public Library of Tarragona. The aim was to re-edit a text s. XIV with the intention of making a comprehensive study, in terms of the context in which they are forged, as the language in which it was written, a variety of northeastern Catalan. In accordance with the objectives, we performed a transcript of the original, according to criteria -- strict, accompanied by comentrios footnote. The first part of the work associated with the text flows religious -- and urban facilitated by the preachers and the need for word in the vernacular. The study lingúistico conducted on three fronts tradiconales (phonetic and spelling, morfonitaxis and lexicon) puts the emphasis on the latter two parties, especially sintexis, poor relation of the historic grammar. It has been contrasted with the Latin text, in order to see how adjusting the Catalan to frasse altina. In separate Catalan adapting to the Latin phrase. In paragraph vocabulary words and varieties have shown little documented.

It reviews the games competitions morphological on which you can build the system (past / no-pasado, absolute / relative, comments / narration, testimonialidad / no-testimonialidad, action / result, objective / subjective conclusive / no-conclusivo, evidence / assumption) to check the status of temporary forms with guidelines along with more complex forms more or less stable and syntactic constructs denoting manners subjective values, and assess their function. Given the remarkable complexity of the system as a whole, we believe that rather than describe it from unmarked series of forms which opposes the series marked, it is more accurate to think of a gradation of nature and consider marking system in a spectrum of variation gradually compormiso epistémico the speaker, ranging from objectivity to subjectivity and from the reality hasata unreality: Forms indicative of testimonials. • THE ENGLISH COMPARATIVE: SOME ASPECTS OF SYNCHRONIC AND DIACHRONIC VARIATION.

Summary: A case study on the evolution of comparative adjectives in English has emerged in recent decades, and the standard literature on the comparative diacronía remains essentially provided by the grammars historical principles of s. XX (however vine. Kytà ¶ 1996, Kytà ¶ and Romaine 1997.2000). This paper aims to contribute to a greater understanding of the comparative adjectives diacronía English. It is divided into two parts. The first part (Chapter 1 and 2) discussed matters relating to the distribution of comparative synthetic strategies (eg Friendlier) and analytical (egmore friendly) that the previous literature has not tried or has not turned out well. The second part (Chapter 3 and 4) is devoted to an investigation of the ways comparative perifrásticas doubles (eg More friendlier), lasa whom had received treatment very limited so far. The latest articles on comparative adjectives (Kytà ¶ 1996, Kytà ¶ and Romaine 1997) assume that the forms comparative perifrásicas appeared in the late medieval period. However, no study so far presented convincing arguments in favor of this hypothesis, in fact, not only the timing but also the origin of these comparative forms are presented as issues that need a more thorough treatment. The first chapter is dedicated, therefore, to investigate how, when and where the comparative perifrásicos appeared in the language. Chapter 2 moves over time and examines the factors determining the use of strategies comparitas synthetic and analytical. The most recent literature (eg Leech and Culpeper 1997, Lindquist 2000, Mondorf 2003) suggests that in addition to factors phonological and morphological, syntactic nature factors also play an important role in the selection of comparative strategy. The chapter investigates this hypothesis and suggests that the distribution of these forms is clearly influenced by factors semánticos-pragmáticos that had not been taken into consideration too far (but vine. Mondorf 2003). The fact that the comparative doubles were considered non-standard forms at the beginning of the period of late modern English has had a significant impact on the care that these forms have been received in the previous literature. The second part of the thesis is therefore devoted to a study of these forms doubles. Chapter 3 examines the distribution lingüstica and semantic characteristics of these forms along its history, while Chapter 4 focuses on the development sociolingà ¼ istico and stylistic. On a more general level, the work takes and defends the use of corpora as a fundamental working tool in lingüstica historic. In turn, each chapter shows how the body of work can contribute to a better understanding of processes gramatización, contact languages (chap. 1), synonymy (cap.2) and standardization processes (Chapter 3 and 4).

Summary: That argument falls within the attempts of the lingüstica historic track footprints of orality in the written documentation old. Specifically, he examines a body of literary dialogues belonging to works that span the entire Middle Ages and can be divided into three periods established by Rafael Lapesa: Spanish pre-alfonsí, Alfonsí-S.XIX and Pre-clásico. The extension of the corpus is justified by the desire to establish a contrast between different eras and genres. The initial aim is twofold: first, to find constant and variable in the construction lingüstica of discursive interactions from a series of features (delimitation of ED, vocativos, expressions apelativas, forms processing, word order, mechanisms relationship suproracional relations interoracionales, etc.). on the other hand, offer, albeit on an interim basis, a typology dialogal for this period. Both objectives are the following precautions: the challenge of implementing the current perspective to the texts of the past, the influence of rhetoric, character or not translation of the text, the filter of consciousness lingüstica and, finally, social conventions. The typology we propose establishing from the purpose that literary authors pursued in the case of language and tradition in which the text is inserted. It provides a triple classification: 1 - Dialogue character didáctico-moralizantes. 2 - Dialogue circunstancial-teatral. 3 - Dialogue rhetorical. In addition, there are two features that affect most of them regardless of the category to which they belong. The expertise of the verb say as introducer and the prevalence of ED in all fragments dialogados of reporting relationships (especially completivas on and causal) compared to the coordination and juxtaposition, which coincides with some of the studies carried out on the current symposium . These data matizan Assuming the parataxis. It concludes that the syntactic structure varies depending on the intentions discursive (narrative texts, thoughtful, and so on.). Finally, it should be noted in relation to the mechanisms of ilación supraoracional that from the early Spanish texts does not show the presence of these connectors seeking to give cohesion to the speech. The appearance of some of them, such as ey since the start of a speech is directly linked to the characteristics of language in the text, because only appear in fragments dialogados, constituting engarces needed to get cohesion. Over all times we have seen virtually the same values, with the conclusive nature of the aftershocks since the most constant. This fact and its virtual absence in texts that is not replicated in any dialogue ED allows us to infer that it could be a real use of the spoken language from the beginning until the present time.

Summary: This Doctoral Thesis interdependent two objectives: building a body in computerized, and analysis, through solutions employed, the problems posed by a specific type of texts to translators: those away chronologically regard to the current era (belonging to the Early Modern English), which are written, in whole or in part in a variety diatópica (dialect) different from what was already then could be considered standard language. This thesis lies in two key theoretical frameworks: Lingüstica Historical and Descriptive Translation Studies (and more specifically, Translation Studies based in Corpus). The latest technology has enabled the design and construction of parallel corpus inglés TRADI IMTti (XX - XXI): TRAducción of Early Modern English Dialects (GTI) English theater (you) and of the twentieth century. The Corpus comprises two very different eras: the period of Early Modern English (GTI) for the English texts, and the twentieth century and to the Spanish texts. The emergence of the variety of London area as a standard of English is the fact lingüstico most significant of GTI. In general, when a given variety acquires the status of standard, it begins to identify with the way the "right" to speak and write, which leads to an underestimation of the other varieties, which are beginning to be associated with uses uneducated and inaccurate, and their use (for example, as a marker of the geographical origin of the characters) is a major challenge for the translator. Based on the distinction between standard and dialect variety and types of varieties and variations within a language, it has been deepened in thinking about the identification of dialect in literary texts. Following chapters more theoretical in nature, the thesis presents the catalog Translations TRADI IMti (XX - XXI), the first step in the subsequent construction of parallel corpus. The catalog has been the tool that has provided preliminary data requirements (reflected in the statistical analysis) for a further selection of the texts that would become part of the corpus. The corpus parallel TRADI IMTti (XX - XXI) has been built on the software Corpus Presenter. The process of labeling origin of the texts (TOs) and the search for a unit alignment enjoyable as possible for the purposes of this research have been key tasks for further study descriptivo four TOs and nineteen texts goal ( TMs). This has not only revealed the different strands that appear in dialectal English texts, but also the types of solutions devised by the translators when they face them.

Summary: In this research, the primary objective has been the description and analysis of various buildings belonging to non-literary texts of the sixteenth century, in order to contribute to the study of the synthesis itself from an era of our language that has not been sufficiently studied this regard. This has been especially important election of the documents would have a real body. This has been divided into three different sections, so that the first includes texts of the Court of the Inquisition in the Canaries, the second corresponds to some protocols notarized and the third incorporates matrimonial proceedings and orders of the Ecclesiastical Court. The central part of the thesis is divided into four major sections: the prayers made for a / that / 1, the prayers made by / as /, prayers and the infinitive interrogativas indirect. In each of these addresses questions of a theoretical nature, which help to understand the various issues that characterize syntactic structures. Broadly, is the functionalism of Alarcos the starting point for these explanations, although analysis of some specific aspects leads, sometimes, to seek alternative views that expose more efficiently our vision on the material found in corpus. The importance of the sixteenth century in the evolution of the language is reflected in the fact that there are features in the syntax in which it is clear that this is a time of transition, in which the features are preserved medieval Spanish, while also intuyen and the distinctive features which characterize the language we speak today.

Beside that described in diacronía ideas lingüsticas explicit and soterráneas, because in most cases they are not in texts relating language nor are they fully developed. Instead, notes, fingerprints, comments or meditations, which require an articulation to give them meaning from their own privacy. Summary: The Doctoral thesis has been to better understand the specialized vocabulary used by authors as Ginés Martinez Alonso Aranda or Vandelvira, both responsible for the only two known texts devoted to the quarrying of the sixteenth century. The manuscripts of Renaissance quarrying has been known since only a few decades ago, have had a very low diffusion and barely contained in the codes of Spanish architectural vocabulary. This led us to focus on them our Doctoral Thesis, divided into three parts: the first we have outlined an overview of the architecture and quarrying during the sixteenth century, in the second we developed the study of words (from various perspectives : Distribution categorial, morphological structure, source, semantic aspects and scheduling), finally in the third we carried out a glossary of voices, contained in a second volume. In the first part we tried to contextualize treaties specializing in the sixteenth century Spain. We felt it appropriate approach to the formation of an architect during the Five Hundred in Spain and we have revised the various existing schools at the time and functions of the worm during the sixteenth century. In the thesis we considered a type of specialized lexicon, the quarrying, namely designating procedures, practices and physical cutting and styling of the stone. At first we had thought studying the voices contained only in manuscripts Alonso Vandelvira and Ginés Martinez Aranda. However, to raise awareness of a more comprehensive specialized vocabulary of this technique, we realized the need to incorporate words used by other writers, which provide a variety of information related to this technique, as Diego Sagredo, Miguel de Urrea Francisco Lozano, Juan de Arfe and Villafañe Patricio Cajés and Diego Lopez de Arenas.

Summary: Between 1740 and 1741, illustrated Valencia, Gregorio Mayans, drafted the 'Idea of a dictionary universal egecutada in the Civil Court,' as a model for a Dictionary Optional Antonio Bordazar was doing at that time. This dissertation examines the work of Mayans cited and is divided into two distinct parts. First, we analyze the problems of gestation of the 'Idea' and ideas lingüsticas behind this legal dictionary. This section highlights the possible relationship of ideas mayansianas with draft universal language that had emerged during the seventeenth century. It presents, for this, fragments of letters supporting the similarities between the 'Idea' and this type of project and are shown, moreover, the most important works focusing on the creation of universal languages. In this first part, addresses, asísmismo, ideas about Mayans works lexicográficas possessing and driving, as well as projects lexicográficos the author. The second part of this thesis focuses on the analysis of the 'Idea' is a dictionary and an analysis of the lexicon and the sources of the work. Following this analysis of the work can be noted that the 'Idea of a dictionary' is a clear example of the heterogeneity and humanist character of Gregory Mayans since, which might seem a mere terminological dictionary goes further, because after he hallan interests can be varied and outline the different facets of the author. On the one hand, as a germ of the book are the dream of creating a universal language, an international code of scientific communication on the other hand, the dictionary shows the ideas of the era of scientific advances, the need to codify and categorize the various disciplines and expertise closer to the greatest number of people. Are relatives, in the same work, and lingüsticas with philosophical and historical aspects central to the study of law. One sample, hence the disparity of interests that come together in the figure of Gregory Mayans.

Summary: This thesis is an analysis of diachronic training compound words in Spanish from the theories of gramaticalización and lexicalization. The first chapter is devoted to the description of the theoretical model adopted for the study of the compounds. It also takes place at this point an examination of the semantic implications that accompany processes gramaticalización and lexicalization from exposure of the main features of the metaphor and the metonimia from the budgets of the lingüstica cognitive. Chapters II, III and IV are for the treatment of the three types of membership that exist in Spanish: sintagmática composition, the composition cultured and lexical composition. In each of these classes compositivas, discusses its problems, especially in terms of their formal delimitation with other similar units, its features are described from the point of view synchronous and obviously are analyzed taking into account the participation of processes gramaticalización and lexicalization in their training. Finally, the last chapter contains the conclusions drawn from the entire analysis. Attached to the thesis presents a dictionary compounds where gather all the voices that have been considered and compounds that have formed the body of study of this thesis. Ultimately, this research wants to be a contribution to the historical study of the compounds of Spanish, not too terrain explored in lingüstica historic Spanish.
