Here are reviews the literature on the connectors or markers contrast. Part of this work is applied in two studies corpus on the expression of this concept in the genre of investigative story area lingüstica. The first aims to identify the various mechanisms coding relationships in the genus studied contrast, both those marked by a connector or marker discursive as those expressed by other means. The second study examines the operation and meaning in the speech "although", "while", "still" and "yet". Among other things, addresses the problems of the kind expressed by contrast, the significance and meanings of the original temporary units, elements of the relationship contrast appearing explicit and implicit and their management in the formulation, coocurrencia of these units other markers, and the role retórico-discursiva that are involved. Summary: This dissertation is part of cognitive paradigm, which conceptualizes metonimia as a cognitive phenomenon, whose role is not limited to purely rhetorical level but permeates our daily lives and our mechanisms of thought. This work, which is based on a body composed of achievements lingüsticas of metonyms of body parts in English, has as its primary objective the exploration of the cognitive mechanisms underlying the phenomenon metonímico and give the system conceptually linked to the language of a potential communicative specific. First, it performs a thorough critical review of previous work on the metonimia to expose the main disadvantages posed. Secondly, it provides a classification projections metonímicas reaching a higher degree of systematic and cognitive adaptation that previous proposals based on the principles of relational semantics. Third, it conducts a detailed analysis of the concept of grammatical metonimia through (i) a description of the main characteristics that distinguish it from other types of metonimia, (ii) the exploration of the different types that appear in our body, and (iii) exploring the different ways in which the grammatical change affects not only the concept involved but the entire organization of the structure of the clause. In this regard, special attention is given to the scope of the metonimia grammatical and their impact on the level morphosyntactically. Finally, we investigated the different types of conceptual interaction can take place between the metonimia, metaphor and image patterns. With regard to the relationship of the metaphor with the metonimia, analyzes the imprint of each communication pattern, and explores whether these processes of the interaction metonimia always behind the metaphorical projection, or if it is possible in some cases metaphor can be a prerequisite for the development of metonimia. With regard to the interaction between metonimia and schemes image, it is noted that this is a widespread phenomenon in the English language and is dilucidan the various roles they can play schemes image when interacting with the metonimia.

Summary: In this paper we study the mechanisms argumentativos that major Spanish media used in the coverage of "events in El Ejido" occurred in the town of Almería in February 2000. To do so, use two basic tools: Critical Discourse Analysis, while overall methodological framework and the Argumentation Theory in the language, while working tool. The first chapter is devoted precisely to introduce the methodological framework. The purpose of this part is to properly understand the place of the Critical Discourse Analysis within the studies on the speech. Chapter II deals with analyzing what factors the context in which the media are to have an effective influence on the characteristics of discursive news. This is used as a tool generally Propaganda Model developed by Noam Chomsky and Edward S. Herman. Chapter III examines the characteristics of the broader media discourse on immigration. Chapter four is devoted to the argument. It outlines the principles and theoretical developments in the theory of the Argumentation in the language, not referencialista that theory holds that the elements lingüsticos and not the facts of the world that determine the progress of an argumentative discourse. One component of this approach is the so-called Theory of Modifiers Argumentativos. This (sub) theory is mostly semantics, however, it is possible to show that the syntax also imposes restrictions on the processes of change argumentative. For this reason, it is proposed that there is a component Sintáctico in that (sub) theory it is necessary to take into account to correctly understand the scope of the same explanatory. Chapter V, finally, analyzes the strategies and structures argumentativas that the Spanish media used in the symbolic representation of the principal actors involved in the events in El Ejido. Logically, a study of each and every one of the phenomena argumentativos treaties in the field of Theory of Argument in the language by far exceed the limits of any work. Thus, the analysis focuses on two aspects complex features that allow explicit discourse of the media image of these players: the processes of change and argumentative discourse markers. These two elements represent the two main ways through which the units lingüsticas can contribute in building the overall meaning of a speech. In the processes of change argumentative come into play units while conceptual discourse markers are prototípicamente units of a procedural nature or instructional. For this reason, the analysis of these two aspects enables provide a full picture of the media coverage of the events in El Ejido.
