Summary: We are analyzing the interregional migration in Spain for the period
1975-1995. We review the extensive literature on modeling of migration flows and their determinants clustering models on two theories: the theory of Human Capital and Balance. It analyzes the size and rates of gross and net migration for inter-regional and provincial level and describes the evolution in time and space between the autonomous communities. Particular attention is paid to analysis of the influence of human capital of migrant on the size and direction of migration flows. Attention is relevant proposes a new methodology for modeling migration flows based on the theory of stochastic processes. We apply this model to data from Spain in the period 1986-1995, contrasting the validity of the model and the improvement in the explanatory and predictive with respect to other kinds of modeling. Included in the model sensitivity factor that represents the different personal assessment that the migrant ago on the attractiveness of the region of destination.
