Summary: We start with the approach that any school activity addressed from a playful attitude can be considered com game, and in turn raised any game as such, as if performing an activity without such an attitude, just becoming monotonous, and away from rigid joy, degenerating into a school routine exercise more, lacking motivation. We believe all those activities, ideas or approaches that are planned and who possess those traits in his characterization that we consider fun. So we conducted a tour of the educational Spanish contemporary history, in response to these activities or play games, as tools, resources or guidance that possess the virtues of leisure education. They are the subject of our interest, all those educational experiences that have tested the playful activity at school daily practices over the past century and a half in our country. We also look at all those approaches or calls made by Spanish teachers demanding the introduction of the game in our schools, or for the use of extra-time games for educational purposes. Nuesra research is historical, seeking support in those publications educational periodicals and organs of speech teacher in each historical moment studied, as well as monographs, textbooks used in Normal Schools, scientific meetings and conferences, educational legislation, memories techniques teachers filed with the educational inspection, and so on. One of the main virtues or characteristics on which much of the research is the ability of the game to act as a foundation, end of the tool and integral education. The fact that the playful activity conducive to learning and teaching in action all educational dimensions (physical, intellectual, social and aesthetic) has made since yesteryear educators set their attention on it, considering it of the utmost importance and considering appropriate use teaching in action. But while it is this belief or conviction there has been some consensus, especially among educators near positions of pedagogical renewal, but not the same thing has happened as they carry or move this speech to educational practice everyday, especially the school. The initial bet or theoretical activity by the playful, collides in most cases with the opposition or confrontation between the game (recreation) and work (business, leisure denial).
