YOUNG EDUC @ ND SOCIETY: TRIBES EDUCATORS IN BARCELONA, BOGOTA AND DOMPOASI (GHANA)Author: Lozano Escobar Javier Orlando. Year: 2006. University: AUTÓNOMA DE BARCELONA [ www.uab.es]. Place of defense: Departament de Pedagogia Sistemàtica i Social. Place of preparation: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Summary: There are youth groups, primarily urban (but not necessarily), engaged in different types of community with the educational practices that are identified and where cultures developed. In turn, these groups are linked to other of the same type, either real or symbolic, sometimes forming networks, sometimes global cultures, which aspire to change the world and make improvements in people's lives . We refer to youth groups just characterize as' tribes educators'. Dissertation This is the context and detailed description of these three groups, belonging and located in different geographical and cultural rights, which has developed a work participatory field and committed it attaches to the role of educator, researcher - ethnographer-agent social dialogue with the students - members of a community-social subjects. It also describes the process approach, preparation, development and effects of a meeting interlocal of educational experiences carried out by them and other groups cercanos.Nuestros groups are located in zones, urban areas whose people see diminished his power of decision and freedom of choice on important aspects of their daily lives: what to eat, where to shop, what types of work and leisure choices, and so on. Marked differences doing these areas and sectors of the population subject to the decisions of the administration, economic power and cultural inertia social subjects and not masters of their own destiny. These areas, in particular, are the southern district of Barcelona in Nou Barris, the central area (most urbanized) in the locality fifth (Usme) from Bogota and township Dompoasi, in a densely populated rural area about 100 km. South of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region in Ghana. The field work is also an educational intervention in which it is proposed to groups of Bogota and Barcelona make an encounter experiences educators agenciadas youth. This proposal curdles in August 2004 and has had several subsequent effects are also discussed in the thesis. The approach to dealing with this investigation process and committed participant emerges from the ethnographic tradition (in his little explored frontier with non-formal education), while the Latin American popular education. The style of work is involved and justified them, while as a theory that would allow the analysis of the information collected, especially in newspapers field, we assume command of the theory of the interaction of E. Goffman, with some input from different theories about the ritual with which we intend to reveal this aspect as youth cultures present in the everyday life of the groups. This has thoroughly classified information to extract 373 records of interactions, both ceremonies as complex or other casual exchanges short. The theoretical result of this research is to characterize the tribes educators beyond the initial definition as spaces for:  learning creative, welcoming and also 'limits'   dialogue between different search of authenticity through participation in a project of social transformation  grow over internal and external conflicts  design their own meeting times and meeting and everyday as extracotidianos, building their own identity  negotiating styles be genuine and encounter in real networks and symbolic in which young people are moving quickly
DEVELOPMENT OF A CAUSAL EXPLANATORY MODEL OF GENDER DIFFERENCES IN THE CHOICE OF HIGHER EDUCATION.Author: MOSTEIRO GARCIA Ma. JOSEFA. Year: 2006. University: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA [ www.usc.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN. Summary: This dissertation is intended to meet and consider the variables that act as mediators of gender differences in the choice of higher education. For this purpose as regards conducted a first approach to the subject matter at the theoretical foundation of our work where we define the theoretical reference conducting a conceptual delineation of the election and gender constructs, approaching the study of the various models explaining the career development of women, to finally make an analysis of the different variables underlying the previous models, which have been studied in our work. These theoretical approaches and in-depth study of selected variables were taken as a basis for our subsequent empirical work, which analyzed socio variables, school and personal associated with the genre acting as a mediator in the election of university studies and produced a causal explanatory model that allows us to know the possible causal relationships between the variables under consideration. To this end, we are working with a random sample of 1092 students to be applied a questionnaire consisting of a total of 29 questions relating to socio environment, studies and the variables personal reasons, gender stereotypes, values and expectations self-efficacy. The results show the existence of differences between male and female students in line with the traditional gender stereotypes. Thus, we find differences in the variables related to the social sphere and family profession, level of education and employment status of the mother, the father's level of education, place of residence and family residence for the course. In terms of the variables schoolchildren clear differences remain on the options chosen in academic BUP, and COU LOGSE Baccalaureate and the academic performance of both sexes. The results relating to personal variables show the existence of similarities in the values that men and women report and differences in the reasons, gender stereotypes and expectations of academic and professional self-efficacy. Compared to the results of estimating the causal model, it seems that following the analysis made no indication so unequivocal that the relationship between the variables of gender choice and the direction that we continue to postulate, namely, socio variables, and school Personal not explained in our sample so strong, as expected, the election of men and women who are pursuing their university studies. STRATEGIC PLANNING SCENARIOS IN HIGHER EDUCATION. THE CASE OF THE UNIVERSITY CRISTÓBAL COLONAuthor: GARCÍA DÍAZ MIRÓN ALICIA. Year: 2006. University: BURGOS [ www.ubu.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE HUMANIDADES Y EDUCACIÓN. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE HUMANIDADES Y EDUCACIÓN. Summary: Under the heading "THE STRATEGIC PLANNING IN SCENARIOS OF HIGHER EDUCATION. THE CASE OF THE UNIVERSITY CRISTOBAL COLON," holds the experience of a private higher education institution Mexican located in the city and port of Veracruz, which seek to improve their operation, decides to use strategic planning. The start of the experiment determines the opportunity to have diagnostic information within the institution, it obtained as a result of an evaluation by the FIMPES; body authorized by the competent authority Mexican (SEP) to issue certificates of quality, and bringing together Mexican private universities for higher education, conducted in the institution in the year 1996. The university authorities led by the visionary leadership of its rector, exploit such information, and decide to develop the Five-Year Strategic Plan Institutional Development 1997-2002. Such an environment and circumstances giving rise to concern prove without doubt that improving the university already manifest in the year 2003, using the results of the second evaluation of the same body, is due to the implementation of the Strategic Plan cited. To test the approach hypothetical above, the following is designed research plan: The first stage should display data on the change that Christopher Columbus University experienced during the period 1996-2003, ie grew more academic offer and other indicators of the same nature, which implemented more and better facilities and infrastructure services, and that was more efficient in its operation. Demonstrating enough empirical evidence changes in the behavior of these internal variables from significant differences. He settled in the second stage, a relationship between the use of strategic planning and the event change; assuming for this purpose that there is a cyclical event in the time series for each variable, and that this is due to the use of a strategic tool. In other words, data showed domestic variables selected were analyzed and contrasted trends, and in those time series was due to reveal shift toward improvement. In a third time was needed valuing external variables or the environment, and therefore beyond the control of the university. Whereas a study of the institution itself regarding factors that determine their enrollment; were selected two: household income of the corresponding economic zone, and competition in the market for educational services at the tertiary level. This is sought to prove that any of the variables mentioned, was sufficiently explaining the cyclical event. With all of the above, it was possible to prove that the exercise of the Strategic Plan changed the trajectory of internal variables towards improvement, in the absence of evidence of involvement of external variables. CONSTRUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE DOMAINS INADEQUATELY STRUCTURED THROUGH THE USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. APPLICATION TO A UNIVERSITYSummary: The purpose of the study is the construction of knowledge from poorly structured problems (ill-structured problem) through the use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT). The research hypotheses raised the comparison of two teaching learning environments supported by ICT applied in a university context. The environment "protocols or parent decision-making" is a more rigid and traditional convergent, on the contrary the environment "mindtools or tools of the mind" follows the input of the Theory of Cognitive Flexibility, allowing base management conceptual and data networks that provide greater flexibility and allow an argument from different points of view. The experiment was applied to 63 students in psychology, speech therapy and teaching that had previous training varied (junior, middle and advanced) and who agreed to participate in an intensive course assessment and advice on real cases of children, young adults and non-voice using Communication Systems Aumentativa. The findings of the study show that the rigid traditional environments only allow students to advance novel environments while flexible benefit novice, media and especially the way. It also shows that the more complex and diffuse knowledge require flexible tools. The advanced students with knowledge initial closest to the professionals, flexible environments need to provide solutions to problems inadequately structured high complexity.
DIMENSIONS MATIVACIONALES AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN EXTREMADURA. INFLUENCE OF SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES AND ACADEMIC.Author: CAÑAMERO SÁNCHEZ MARÍA DEL PILAR. Year: 2006. University: PONTIFICIA DE SALAMANCA [ www.upsa.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE PEDAGOGÍA. Place of preparation: UNIVERSDIAD PONTIFICIA DE SALAMANCA. Summary: The learning process of the university, is influenced by a number of dimensions that are interrelated, among which we highlight, the kind of motivational, along with the emotional dimensions. In addition, these dimensions relate to the academic and socio-demographic variables in each environment, in our case, students Extremadura. Finally, all influence the final product: academic performance and satisfaction. The objectives of the study are: First, 'make a descriptive analysis of the socio-demographic variables and academic, along with the motivational and emotional dimensions. Second, 'correlating the results of tests that measure the dimensions motivational and emotional with each other, comparing them with those of the Spanish population, and compare and correlate the academic and socio-demographic variables with each other'. And thirdly, 'compare the interaction between the motivational and emotional dimensions with the academic and socio-demographic variables in the sample extreme'. Some of the findings state that the university students extremeños handled in the process of learning and study, a larger number of reasons, strategies, approaches and Surface compounds with the rest of Spanish students. Regarding his study habits, Extremadura use environmental conditions and study materials, as appropriate. However, do not plan as well they should and they are very sincere to the study. In anxiety, women are more anxious extremeñas as state with the rest of Spanish and depression, Extremadura fall within the normal ranges. QUALITY ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT COMPARED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY AND INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE OF THE ULBRA IN JI-PARANÁ IN THE STATE OF RONDÒ'NIA-BRASILAuthor: Diniz de Brito Erivaldo. Year: 2006. University: A CORUÑA [ www.udc.es]. Place of defense: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Place of preparation: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Summary: This thesis is structured into two basic parts: First the theoretical foundation, where we try to contextualize knowledge through chapters desenvueltos. There are five chapters that make up this first part, which deals with the context of higher education in Brazil, assessment, quality accreditation to the institutional evaluation, all with focus voltado for Higher Education. Looking at eses points necessary knowledge on the evaluation systems, quality and accreditation of higher education, to work from there for the purposes of evaluation deste university, aiming first the quality of our services (Infra-estructura and Processes ) as well as the needs and satisfaction of our students and the community at large. The second part deste work is the methodological foundation, seeking general objective the development of tools that will enable us to find reliable and valid information identifying key factors analysis for starting deste knowledge seek aprimoramiento of quality in education. As a specific objective, we intend to analyze what is the perception in terms of satisfaction of the students and gives quality than ULBRA attends. Identify where they can be the biggest differences and dissatisfaction, then going on the development of research that is through the application of a questionnaire sent to the students, where one seeks to know the quality of the services provided, as well as the needs of students, from that knowledge, still be implemented improvements both in the evaluation process and quality. It also was applied to staff a system of interview, with the aim to learn about their needs, then be able to compare their level of satisfaction with the students from that knowledge be applied memories, prinicipalmente knowledge of reality is justified by the need to be improving the quality of our services to our students, faculty, staff and other community. SPORT AS EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY: AN EVALUATIVE STUDY OF THE "SPORT IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN PRIMARY EDUCATION IN THE CITY OF A CORUNAAuthor: Varela Garrote Lara. Year: 2006. University: A CORUÑA [ www.udc.es]. Place of defense: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Place of preparation: Facultad de Ciencias del Deporte y la Educación Física. Summary: In this research explains and interprets the state's educational approach in the context of sport in their extracurricular dimensions theoretical and práctica-aplicativa of nature sociopedagogical; this will ralizó a literature review on the scope extracurricular, educational approach of sport and evaluating programs both generally and in the field of entertainment. A second claim of this work was to investigate the program of extracurricular sports "Sports Center" belonging to the initiative of the municipality of A Coruña "Discovering leisure"; aspect involving the development of evaluative method CIPP created by Stufflebeam in 1967 and designed to help make decisions about the realities studied. On a more concrete level, have been studied various aspects of concern to the promoters of the program as valuations of the different actors involved in it on organizational matters: the effect of the program on the values of the users with regard to physical activity and sports; needs to find those involved, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of "Sport in the Center" Research has developed in ten public primary education in the city of A Coruna who taught the program "Sport in Center "and she had participated in the following towns: participants and non-participants in the program, parents of the participants, educators, technicians and managers. From the methodological point of view, this study can be defined as an evaluative research, which uses the method CIPP, whose methodology is inclusive (by combining quantitative and qualitative methods), a descriptive and inferential; for comparison between groups, it has been decided by a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group and the role of external evaluator has been. The tools used were reviewing documentary sources relating to the program, questionnaires (applied to participants, non-participants and educators) interviews (applied to technicians and managers) and discussion groups (with the collective educators) Analysis of data organized around the method CIPP (context, input, process and output) The information provides the context, allows locating the program and its evaluation in a broader environment. It describes and discusses the urban habitat, "in which he is engaged" in the Sports Center ", the" family environment "for those involved in its initiatives and major" features "In the second dimension analyzed called" entry "we tried to know the resources available to the program for their development and well know playing it. This will describe and analyze the "economic resources, material and human" The study is based on "process" allows known aspects of the development or execution of "Sport in the middle. It explores the "structure" in organizing the program, factors related to its "programming" and the "climate" of existing work. The evaluation of the "product" we tried to know what has been achieved through "in the Sports Center." The subdimensiones studied were: "level of participation", "valuations on free time", "valuations on organizational aspects of the program," program's impact on the ratings on physical activity and sport "," needs "," strengths and weaknesses "Among the most significant findings of the study stress that there are no major differences in either the short or long term in terms of participants and non-participants in the program, with regard to their valuations on physical activity and sport. It detects a need to improve the professional status of teachers as defined by the programac 8 ion. The 342 results of the study have been incorporated into the process of improving the program developed by the City of A Coruna Federation and the Provincial Public APAs Point A Coruna. INTERVENTION TEACHING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF GENDER IN THE INITIAL FORMATION OF A GROUP OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS.Author: FONTECHA MIRANDA MATILDE. Year: 2006. University: PAÍS VASCO [ www.ehu.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE FARMACIA. Place of preparation: E.U. DE MAGISTERIO DE VITORIA-GASTEIZ.
Summary: This thesis is an investigation of qualitative nature, in which the field work coincides with the teaching-learning process of a group of initial teacher training. This process takes place in the context of the course Physical Education and Teaching I first course of study Magisterium, specialty Physical Education. The process educativo-investigador which is the pilot phase is the result of several years participating in the training of future teachers through a reflexive methodology, and criticized the process develops from a gender perspective. The specificity and originality of this work lies in two aspects: First, we do not just consider the subject of Coeducation, but that the entire process is carried out from the feminist perspective. The second, which goes beyond the stage of diagnosis. In other words, we began to detect the implicit beliefs of the students about concepts Physical Education, and for Coeducation, depending on the initial analysis, implement an educational intervention, the objective of which is to contribute to the empowerment and personal autonomy as teachers. A PROPOSAL FOR THE EVALUATION OF FACULTY ..Author: Cruz Avila Martha. Year: 2006. University: AUTÓNOMA DE BARCELONA [ www.uab.es]. Place of defense: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación. Place of preparation: Departamento de Pedagogía Sistemática y Social. Summary: SUMMARY Autonomous University of Barcelona Faculty of Education Department of systematic pedagogy and social. Research work to obtain the degree of doctor. Theme: "A proposal for the evaluation of faculty" Director of thesis: Dr. Jaume Sarramona Lopez. Martha Cruz Àvila May 2007. This investigation stems from the conclusion of the doctorates among its primary purposes is raised venture into the issue of educational evaluation and specifically in the evaluation of faculty, said development work in the Department of Applied Psychology at the University Center Health Sciences at the University of Guadalajara Mexico, the overall objective is to make a proposal for evaluation of teachers from two factors: first, the evaluation of the teacher by the student's opinion and the second self of the teacher. The work is divided into three sections, of which the first chapter describes the theoretical framework developed in the historical background on the assessment, educational evaluation, assessment types, the valuation of teacher evaluation faculty, teacher evaluation by the opinion of the student, teacher's self-evaluation. In Chapter 11. Showcase regarding the Institutional Context. The addresses aspects exclusive university level, the evaluation at the University of Mexico, a review of printed and electronic memories of the congresses made Mexican council of Educational Research from 1981 to 2006. A historical review of the University of Guadalajara; defines the university of health sciences at the University of guadalajara. In chapter 111 research, in detail here we journey through the entire process followed and began with the description of the problem, at the addresses at the national educational policies and shares issued on the assessment that gave birth to programs of merit pay as well as the participation of instituicones higher education especially Unviersidad of Gualajara and in the career of Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Guadalajra Mexico. This paper presents the objectives that guide the path of this research methodology that is descriptive, as the Video Technique to evaluate the teacher, defines the sampling design for filming of practice teaching techniques obseNación, systematization of obseNaciones of filming a first instrument its theoretical foundation, the empirical validation of questionnaire obseNación, evaluation by Judges at the original instrument, the final synthesis of validation of the instrument, are the instruments end, the first on self-assessment of the teacher and the second for the evaluation of teachers by the student's opinion. In the practical assessment describes the process, the results of overall performance of the entire department, a comparison and analysis of open-ended questions and suggestions to teachers for each of the academies of the department, interviews deferred to teachers and students who were evaluated will participate in the evaluation. The findings rescued, that the process of self-evaluation and to the extent that the teacher has clear what would be done with the information and whether it will be useful, answer honestly, but if the information is used against them then lie about the veracity of his own assessment. PROFILE DEVELOPMENT ENGINE SCHOOLCHILDREN IN ARACAJU (SERGIPE-BRASIL).Author: RODRÍGUEZ SANTOS CARLOS ROBERTO. Year: 2006. University: LEÓN [ www.unileon.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA ACTIVIDAD FÍSICA Y DEL DEPORTE. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA ACTIVIDAD FÍSICA Y EL DEPORTE. Summary: Human behavior is a complex system and represents countless elements in a constant interaction. Over time, the history of human evolution was intimately associated with the movement. Piaget (1973a, b) his work emphasizes the importance of the diversity of experiences motorboats to the cognitive development of children. During the evolution of the maturation of the human being is produced large changes in nature morphological, physiological and functional. According to the literature, all of these changes directly affects the motor development of children, associated with the need for practical experience at an early stage motor diverse experiences. The overall objective was to determine the profile of motor performance of schoolchildren in Aracaju (Sergipe-Brasil). The specific objectives were: To analyze the performance of schoolchildren in motor function of age; Analyze performance driving school on the basis of gender; assess the influence of sexual maturation in the motor performance of children; Rate competition driving schoolchildren and their suitability for chronological age; compare resutlados of this study with those obtained in other papers found in the literature. The population of pupils in primary education and primary, the public school system in the city of Aracaju is estimated at 33482 students, distributed in 74 schools. In determining the appropriate size of the sample was used equation Bartetta ( 1999). Subjects participated in the study were 1232 students between the ages of 4.5 and 16.5 years, 608 male and 624 female. The measuring instrument used in this study was Edition - MEPSA (1968), the battery Testes engines Oseretsky (Version Lincoln- Oseretsky). The level was set at p meant less 0.05. Taking into account the resutlados obtained from the use dela battery test engines Lincoln-Oseretsky in school Network Learning Aracaju (Sergipe, Brazil), and of both genders aged between five and sixteen, can be established the following conclusions: 1 - There is a tendency to progression scores in all sub-tests, from five to sixteen, both the female as in the masculine gender. 2-In general, no significant differences were detected between the motor performance of the school male and female. 3-To evaluate the performance motor, the average values lso found in various subtests were significantly greater for the subjects who had localized ripening, both in females as in males. 4, motor-age schoolchildren evaluated, it is significantly less than chronological age in all age groups and for both sexes. 5 - The comparison with school euroepos shows that in the latter there is a better performance in most of the subtests. OBSERVATION AND ANALYSIS PLACEMENT IN VOLLEYBALL.Author: ARAGUNDI CASTRO CARLOS ALBERTO. Year: 2006. University: A CORUÑA [ www.udc.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DEL DEPORTE Y DE EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA. Place of preparation: INEF DE GALICIA.
Summary: Volleyball Professionals, scholars and researchers must overcome daily visions divided on the analysis and treatment of the actual content of the game that lead to excessive compartmentalization of the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects: the development of the game is something more than just the sum of these factors. The volleyball contains in itself an enormous complexity accentuated by many variables. In this sense, his condition system determines that the heterogeneity of the study and interpretation should be viewed from different perspectives. This fundamental attitude emerges a consensus: the internal logic of the game must be observed and analyzed in the identification, qualification and interaction of factors that constitute it. In volleyball, every action is part of a temporal sequence of situations for which it is always possible to recognize, respect of the relevant time, a "antes-durante-después", as an expression of Pittera ( 1985). This concept has been the trigger apara conducting this investigation, and that what happens "during" always born of a previous situation and will continue in another. In our case the "before" colocador will be receiving the kick or defense of the opposing team's attack: "for" all actions that will make the colocador, for the purpose of placing the ball to his teammates, and " after "the quality of the placement to stop the ball in the best position técnico-tácticas allowing the winning play. METHOD We decided to use observational methodology defined by anguera (1990, p. 128) as a comprehensive process consists of a series of stages articulated with one another to quantify the spontaneous behavior that occurs in natural situations unprepared: "We believe the methodology as a procedure aimed observational to articulate a deliberate perception of reality manifest with its proper interpretation, capturing its meaning so that, through an objective recording, systematic and targeted gracious behavior generated spontaneously in the right context, and once subjected to proper coding and analysis we provide valid results within the framework of specific knowledge that is. " The approach of the objectives of this work implies the study of the behavior of interactive role played by an individual, colocador within a supportive group and manager to another opponent, for a period sufficiently long and natural. We focus primarily on discussing the results obtained in this study since there was no prior investigation of similar characteristics. DISCUSSION The level and amount of driving situations observed has been very high, which has ensured the quality and diversity of actions, we have corroborating features in the study. Regarding instrumetno observation, the creation of the software allowed us to build formats and field systems categories proposed, in which we made the appropriate behavioral records regardless of taxonomy data and the situation. It has allowed the exchange of data with other programs use in observational methodology: Excel SDIS-GSEQ and SPSS. Summary: The overall objective of the tesi is to investigate the successes and the difficulties faced by students Compulsory Secondary Education in the construction of the key concepts of change and continuity. The option of ordering the school curriculum of Social Sciences from the key concepts, made in his time in the Anglo-Saxon world education has been introduced in our country and defended by Dr. Pilar Benejam. In this research, therefore, the influence of the thought of ciada doctor has been very important as well as research on the use of language in the construction of knowledge social.El theoretical framework of the tesi socioconstructivista trying to integrate the design of the teaching process school and learning and the principles of Habermas' theory of communication. From this foundation proposes a model of educational research based on research in the action i paradigm socio-crítico.En the field of Didactics of Social Sciences opting for a curriculum developed from a selection of key concepts area, which allows content to work in an interdisciplinary way and integrate the categories of space and time in the same sequence instructiva.Se focuses on a dozen students from third SCS within the same group and the same school as well as interviews with five students university prácticas.La methodology has enabled relate the theoretical framework of the objectives. The variables associated with the concepts of change and continuity selected (simultaneity, causes and consequences, evolutionary pace, duration, multiple times and changes in functions), related to various disciplines and analyzed from different linguistic skills (description, explanation, justification, interpretation and argument) have made it possible to make some contributions related to the area of Didactics of Social Sciences referred to the Compulsory Secondary Education. The experimentation of the teaching unit "The City" to third SCS, built from the criteria listed above and applied methodologically from instruments measurable post-production written and interview allowed us to achieve concrete results and applicable with intent to be useful in improving the teaching of social knowledge. TEACHER TRAINING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PANAMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION (TIC)Author: GOLZAR MOJGAN HASHEMI. Year: 2007. University: ROVIRA I VIRGILI [ www.urv.cat]. Place of defense: FACULTAT DE CIÈNCIES DE L'EDUCACIÓ I PSICOLOGIA. Place of preparation: FACULTAT DE CIÈNCIES DE L'EDUCACIÓ I PSICOLOGIA. Summary: The social, technological and industrial context of our innovations demanding urgent and relevant at the University of Panama. One of the most important aspects to initiate this process of innovation is the Teacher Training University in the Information Technology and Communication (ICT); study that abocamos us to discuss this factor in three of the Regional University at the University of Panama: Azuero (CRUA), Los Santos (CRULS) and Veraguas (CRUV) for the year 2004 -2005. To this effect and under the paradigm mixed (cuantitativo-cualitativo) resort to a research-type descriptiva-correlacional and survey techniques and interview to obtain the required information from 346 teachers surveyed and twelve officials interviewed on the following dimensions study: a) Education and training needs of teachers in ICT, b) Facilities and access of ICT c) Attitudes towards ICT d) Use of ICT in university teaching. The results of the investigation were triangulados from Percentage analysis of the questionnaires, analysis based on frequencies and percentages and system categories of interviews, and statistical analysis correlational (Chi Square Pearson coefficient and Contingency C) applied to the variables of sex, age, experience Teacher (antigà ¼ old), college degree (degree) and power in 4 dimensions of the questionnaire. In this investigation, the male was found to be the most represented compared to females in the following manner: 12% more in CRUA, 65.8% more CRULS and 37.6% increase CRUV. The correlational study of the variable of sex revealed that there was no relationship between the gender of teachers and their level of knowledge, attending courses, limitations on learning, possession of mail, possession of home computer and his attitude toward the ICT. Ranges of age were the most representative of 41-50 years (35.4% in CRUA, 34.2% in CRULS, 51.6% in CRUV), and least represented teachers who belong to the rank of minors 30 years old and older than 60. The correlational analysis established a link between high variable age and experience level of teachers in ICT, attending skills (good relationship), limitations on learning, possession of mail (low) and computers at home (high). It also showed that the majority of teachers have master's degrees (47.4% in CRUA, 49.3% in CRULS and 73.2% in CRUV) and that the graduates and doctors are the minority. The variable highest academic title showed that it is related with the (low) level of awareness of teachers, the assistance training is a moderate, possession of mail and computer at home is low, but that there is no connection whatsoever between this variable and constraints on the learning of ICT. Referring to the years of experience (antigà ¼ age), although this varies in each regional center, we can summarize that the greatest percentage of whom are those with between 6 and 10 years of teaching in CRUA (27.6) and CRUV (34.4 %), followed by those 16-20 years CRULS (24.7%). According to the statistical analysis correlational, years of teaching experience (antigà ¼ age) show bear no relationship to the degree of knowledge in ICT, nor his attitude towards ICT, but it presents relationship in terms of their attendance at training sessions (good), limitations in learning (high), possession of mail (moderate) and possession of computers at home (good). The powers differed in their representation in each of the regional centers. According to statistical correlation analysis, the variable power source (area of service provision) does not reflect any relationship with the level of awareness of teachers or their attitude towards ICT. Nor are there any relationship between gender variable, and the limitations on learning, but if we find relationship between the (good) variable and assistance to the training of teachers. The results of the survey and interviews showed that there is a clear deficiency in the formation of 8 twelve e1e nten, in terms of knowledge and use of ICT, with little variability (according to the statistical analysis correlational) in the Regional Centers University studied . So far, the training of teachers in ICT has not been systematic. The knowledge and skills that have allowed teachers to use ICT for individual papers, rather than interactivity and cooperative work. Resultando the word processor, the Internet and e-mail as the most popular, in contrast, programming languages, FTP services and Web pages. With regard to attitudes towards ICT, there is some discrepancy between what obtained in the survey and interviews. While 72.4% of CRUA, 71.2% CRULS and 45.6% of CRUV believes his positive attitude towards ICT, 75% of the respondents classified as unfavorable. Both the survey and interviews showed that none of the Regional Centers University studied with sufficient infrastructure, resources, support personnel qualified or trained teachers to initiate innovative processes for the integration of ICT in teaching college.
