LES CULTURES DOCENTS ANALISI DELS PROCESSES OF COL.LABORACIO I DE LES ESTRUCTURES OF PARTICIPACIÓ INTERPROFESSORSAuthor: CARRERAS TUDURI FERRAN. Year: 2003. University: ISLAS BALEARES [ www.uib.es]. Place of defense: UNIVERSITAT DE LES ILLES BALEARS. Place of preparation: UNIVERSIDAD DE LAS ISLAS BALEARES. Summary: The research aims to identify, describe and analyze the collaborative processes and structures of participation interprofesores in an Institute for Secondary Education. Specific Areas of study include non-school hours, the action collegiate faculty, the formal activity i no formal communication and interaction interprofesores, education and culture. The delineation of the specific research focuses on analyzing the distinguishing aspects of the culture of a particular Institute, through exchanges of teachers formal meetings and informal its teachers, according to the three levels of culture described by Monica Gather ( 2004). The methodology used is of a qualitative nature, cutting ethnographic, focusing on an investigation into narrative form. The exhibition focuses on a single case study, a center of Secondary Education identified about three hundred fifty students and forty-five teachers from a non-urban population of eight thousand inhabitants. The data collection instruments were used participant observation, in-depth interviews, analysis of documents, and the daily campo.El process of gathering information has been developed based on an inductive categorization, defined through a double simultaneous process of recogida-análisis data, and continuing validation interna-externa in successive stages of interpretation. The layering of data have been taxonomizado into three broad areas: institutional dimension, a dimension collaborative and participatory dimension. While it is complex to encapsulate in a few lines expository content of the report, some of the ideas relevant to the investigation are met: 1. There are spontaneous and informal processes of what we have called parallel collegiality among teachers, characterized by interactions teachers developed intensively, without external control, and promoted outside of the interactions of formal coordination. This coordination parallel serves to transmit and disseminate information, socialize teachers and establish values that extend through a kind of contagion effect throughout the Center. 2. It detected collegiate collaborative processes, uneven intensity, duration and content, developed at the Center within the vertical and horizontal structures of participation lectiva not teaching. In these processes is noted that the vertical structures generate dynamic logocéntricas coordination, much more focused in the area of discipline, which does not affect actual needs of teachers, abundantly related difficulties school students.
THE ACADEMIC QUALITY OF THE TOP LEVEL IN ARGENTINA. RELATIONSHIP DOLENCIA-INVESTIGACIÓNAuthor: CHICANO DE COELHO M. REGINA. Year: 2004. University: MÁLAGA [ www.uma.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE EDUCACIÓN UNIVERSIDAD MÁLAGA. Summary: The theme of the relationship-teaching research in higher education Argentina has prompted the design and development of this work under a state of polarization of teachers, researchers and officials, either by a commitment for or against this relationship , which requires an academic exercise of reflection to realize the multiple approaches on this theme. The problem arises with the question: Do you guarantee a good academic quality that the university teachers and researchers investigated exercising university teaching? The hypothesis is as follows: The fact that academics and researchers investigated teach does not always guarantee a good quality education. Based on the hypothesis, it has raised a design research descriptive correlational reaching its foundations in the analysis of selected variables. The tools for collecting data that have been used are as follows: discussion groups, surveys, interviews with experts. FACTORS DETERMINING THE OLYMPIC SAILING "DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF THE CLASS STARAuthor: Cardesín Villaverde José Manuel. Year: 2004. University: A CORUÑA [ www.udc.es]. Place of defense: Instituto Nacional de Educación Física de Galicia. Place of preparation: Instituto Nacional de Educación Física de Galicia. Summary: The purpose of the work is to identify the factors that determine the results in the tests of Olympic sailing, based study of the parameters influencing the Olympic sailing in general, sailing cruise, heavy, tall and even the rest of tests dinghy sailing. Focusing later in the methodology used to achieve those parameters that determine the outcome, with the descriptive study on the preparation for the Olympics in Athens 2004 Team of the Spanish Sailing Star class, dividing the work into two cycles, achievement the classification in the first instance and the work of preparation and adaptation for participation in the tournament in August 2004 in Athens. In the first part, is looking for the theoretical foundation of all aspects related to the topics to be discussed: the concept of competition, history of yachting olímpoica and the Star class in particular characteristics of the vessel (trimado and crew), physical condition, nutrition and thermoregulation. The second part explains the methodology used to determine the parameters conditional and different strategies to achieve optimization, analyzing the various problems encountered in the preparation. In 1Â eighth place classification, as the biomechanical study of the position of band, the training undertaken to get the correct technical execution of the position and strengthening in genral. In 2Â fourth place, the Olympic preparation with the investigation carried out for strengthening the Tibial previous hipercalórica with diet, the study of weather forecasting, for the work to carry out in relation to the adaptation to heat, clothing .. . And prehidratación. In the third part, is the discussion of the results with an analysis of the study conducted at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, on "Characteristics of athletes Antropométricas sailing in the Olympics," analyzing the data 650 sportsmen and the 11 sporting disciplines. The EMG study on the position of band. A specific analysis of the results obtained in the Star class, analyzing statistical data from the competition (classification sleeves and passages between buoys, wind, etc. also studying data from all participants in the Olympics with the descriptive statistics of the values of age, weight, height and the comparative data that are generated by the body mass index (BMI). The fourth section discusses the findings on the use of reinforcement and level of muscle activation in the position of band to perform better preparation and new lines of inquiry, such as cardiovascular and dynamometer analysis to analyze the effort to bring place directly on the water and work on improving aspects perceptive, atencional focus. PRODUCTIVITY RESEARCHER AT THE UNIVERSITY TEACHERS PILOT SIMON RODRIGUEZ (VENEZUELA). A PROPOSAL FOR IMPROVEMENTAuthor: MICHELANGELI DE BERDUGO CARMEN MARIA. Year: 2004. University: OVIEDO [ www.uniovi.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACION. Place of preparation: DEPARTAMENTO DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACION. UNIVERSIDAD DE OVIEDO. Summary: The thesis makes an analysis of the productivity of teachers researcher of the National Experimental University Simon Rodriguez (UNESR) from Venezuela, diagnosing their strengths and weaknesses, with the aim of directing a comprehensive proposal for improvement. Once identified the theoretical framework (the evaluation of university research) and context (the Latin American university) study, we applied a methodological design that specifies its objectives, sample sizes and variable. We select a representative sample of teachers and managers of the UNESR, whose information is validated by a panel of experts. The diversity of sources and tools (questionnaires, interviews, technical delphi) allow triangular information and ensure the validity of results. The result of the thesis is on the one hand, an analysis of the critical situation of research in the UNESR and, secondly, the proposal for a package of measures necessary to improve its processes and results. These measures are grouped into seven large dimensions that define the strategic lines of action:-adopting a clear policy to support research-stimulate lifelong learning in the field of research-to improve communication between distitos agents and institutions - Mechanisms incentive of the investigation - to establish an adequate system of control and monitoring - to promote the relationship between research and teaching-get more funding.
THE FORMACIÓ IN TECHNOLOGIES OF THE INFORMATION I COMUNICACIÓ OF PROFESSORAT OF MATEMÀTIQUESAuthor: SANTANDREU PASCUAL MARIA MERCÈ. Year: 2004. University: ROVIRA I VIRGILI [ www.urv.cat]. Place of defense: Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación y Psicología. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN Y PSICOLOGÍA. Summary: The realization of the Doctoral Thesis on Training in Information Technology and Communication of Teachers of Mathematics, contextualized in the public secondary counties in the province of Tarragona, had as its principal aims were to investigate what knowledge, use and skill requirements of the collective consulted regarding technological resources, in order to be able to extract important elements that could serve as a guide for future training. Taking as a frame of reference to study this problem, it chose to conduct an investigation descriptive as the most suitable option given the purpose of the exploratory study to examine, describe and interpret the contrasting aspects and views of teachers about their training resources technology. We approach the development of research by the method of Inquiry, to support its implementation in the use of the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The study population comprised the the 254 math teachers in public secondary schools in the province of Tarragona. The involvement of teachers has been estimated at about 85%. The thesis is divided into nine chapters organized into two blocs. The first one (Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4) are Theoretical Framework, and the research is conducted acknowledged that rely on the Empirical Study for the second block (Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9). In the first block or dedicate Theoretical Framework: Cap.1 the impact on the education of the evolution of the Information Society and Knowledge, prompted by technological advances, especially in regard to the impact of these changes in the math education and training of citizens, especially those who train the teacher in Cap.2 we approach the figure of the math teacher, trying to give a vision: of your profile and what their roles, functions and powers which they ask the teacher at the present time, as well as the provision shows toward the technological means and the use made of them; dedicate the Cap.3 to teacher education and training ICT, referring particularly to high school teachers and math, and the elements that revolve around this training, trying to highlight the current situation and the training needs of this group, since the study focused on the demarcation of Tarragona , we felt it necessary to devote Cap. 4 to discuss the ongoing training of teachers in Catalonia, reviewing the course of action for the last fifteen years, with emphasis on the initiatives taken in relation to ICT training. In the second block development work Empirical adentrándonos in the research problem and objectives (Ch. 5); methodology (Cap.6), the presentation, discussion and interpretation of results (Ch. 7); on the findings and general guidelines for the design of a training plan (Ch. 8), and possible future lines of investigation (Cap.9). The information gained from the collective consulted on their status information, set one of the most valuable contributions of our work, most being one of the first studies on the subject, given the paucity of research on teacher training in mathematics and in particular on its ICT training. The valuation of the study becomes more positive by the fact that the results and conclusions of the same from the view of more than 85% of the population of math teachers and the effectiveness of the questionnaire, which was confirmed by a high fiabilid 8 Ad m e02 ism. Overall, we can say that although the teacher says, in large numbers, have knowledge about ICT, the reality is that the level of skills, both technical and didactic, reached is very low, confirming that plans training - with a strong technical and aesthetic (training for the media), neglecting the valuation of the media as teaching tools (training with the media) - have not been effective in assisting teachers in curriculum integration of the media and teaching resources . It has been noted that the math teachers do not have enough habits and that the matter is far from integrated into the curriculum area. The use being made of the technological resources are scarce without benefiting from their profits and when it does it goes to a few elementary and functions related to the submission and transmission of information, without causing changes in their teaching practice. At the same time faculty consulted bid to improve and increase their knowledge, noting in this regard, a strong demand and technical teaching in those aspects relating to the area itself and the technical mastery of most ICT resources, as well as its grows interest in acquiring training in the design and creation of the same. To which considers training attendance-himself educational institution and any possible estrategias- and self, as the best options. The results of this study we demonstrated the necessary transformation model for training teachers, educational approach should be to introduce a more appropriate and would have to assess, among other things, the potential of ICT for interaction, creation and dissemination knowledge teaching. Here are opting for restructuring the system of initial training, establishing a degree (general) and a postgraduate specialization and pose significant changes in the methodological approaches that are based on these training programs, including ICT in the process, enhance collaborative projects and ultimately teach future teachers as we then teach them. Also needed are changes in the training of teachers, particularly on teacher training for the integration of ICT in the different areas, projecting the deployment of the same in the schools with the aim of creating an I / O At based on the use of these technological resources, which should be developed a plan of ICT training of teachers in mathematics, with specific training content according to the needs identified, diversification strategies integrating the different models and enhancing existing building virtual environments exchange and collaboration. ANALYSIS OF STUDENT ASSESSMENTS IN RELATION TO THE QUALITY OF UNIVERSITY TEACHINGAuthor: CASERO MARTINEZ ANTONIO. Year: 2004. University: ISLAS BALEARES [ www.uib.es]. Place of defense: UNIVERSITAT DE LES ILLES BALEARS. Place of preparation: DEPARTAMENTO DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACION UNIVERSITAT DE LES ILLES BALEARS. Summary: This thesis tries to show what elements are based students to develop judgments about the quality of their teachers. The work consists of three empirical studies, which deals in the first place and through a qualitative methodology, detection and interrelatedness of the components of the perception of a good university professor by the students. Secondly, through surveys to students and faculty, he examines what are the most important items to assess the university teaching. Thirdly, and finally, carried out a survey in which students evaluated the quality of teaching their teachers from a questionnaire developed with the findings of the two previous phases. The findings point towards an explanatory model of assessing the quality of teaching in which features are present both as a professional outside stressing the latter, the personal characteristics of teachers. THE IDENTITY OF PROFESSIONAL TEACHING PROFESSOR IN BASIC EDUCATION IN MEXICOAuthor: TORRES HERRERA MOISES. Year: 2005. University: AUTÓNOMA DE BARCELONA [ www.uab.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN. Place of preparation: ESCOLA DE POSTGRAU. Summary: The goal of this research is to comprehend the professional scholarly identity in teaching,
through the theory of life cycles. In this case, through the professional life cycle integrated to the scholar's life and career. Studying the dimensions in which such cycles are subdivided from the narrative perspective, the social fact is narrated from within the actors; an attempt of objectivity from subjectivity. The theoretical model of this study is based on the theories about life cycles and identity construction. Identity is not an essence, nor an intrinsic property of the individual, but it has to have an inter-subjective and relational character. It is constantly transformed, given that it requires an integrative function that allows us, without problems from the past, to link the present and the future. The research followed a methodological designed that integrated qualitative and quantitative methods. The sample for the quantitative phase of the study -muestra propositiva- was composed of 292 active teachers, distributed in 13 states of the Mexican Republic. They were selected by biological age, and professional years of academic work. For the qualitative phase of the study, 8 teachers participated (case studies). The results of this work give bases to define the scholar's life cycle through the next 8 categories: Novatez docente (20-25 years old). His/her interest is in demonstrating
that his/her aptitudes, abilities and knowledge deserve recognition. He/she remains in an 'I' state. He/she feels fully satisfied with their work.
Abandono de novatez e inicio de consolidación (26-30 years old). He/she continues with the idea to transcend; the necessity to achieve recognition as a scholar and obtain tenure appears. His/her thinking is more pragmatic. Consolidación docente (31-35 years old). He/she defines and adopts a
model as a teacher with which he/she feels satisfied and stable; they make up their own discourse that allow them to legitimize themselves. His/her tenure track motivation increases (hacer una carrera). Plenitud docente (36-40 years old). His/her model matures as the culminating point of fulfillment; redimensiona their position and function, and there appears a kind of self- revalorization. Inicio de dispersion docente (41-45 years old). He/she lives an absence of elements towards a concrete area, and can be considered as a period of declining initiation. It is a critical period
of redefinition. Dispersión docente (46-50 years old). He/she feels disenchantment towards the profession. He/she states new expectations from two objectives: one, to achieve a higher position to improve his/her salary and his/her power relations, and another, to exit the profession with better economic advantages. Preparación para la salida ( 51-55 years old). He/she looses the energy and impetus of past stages and acquires the serenity that gives him/her the mastery of a learned work, as well as a bigger affective distance from the students, other teachers, and the school. He/she reconceptualizar his/her own identity. He/she considers that all past time was better. Salida inminente (56-60 years old). He/she thinks of two options: one, the possibility of a serene exit, if the previous stages have been a fulfillment (a search and inclusion into activities linked to the academic sector), and another, a complaint converted into a sour exit; history as the only referent model to evaluate the events, people, and his/her results and performance. Based on these results it is concluded that the identification of the patterns that conform the career or professional life of the teacher integrates critical periods, inherent factors to its development, or well, variables that affect their own development, level of criticism and procuracy; also they could be useful in different areas, among them, the areas of professional recruiting, selection a and development of the teaching scholastic personnel. THE TEACHING OF NATURAL SCIENCES FROM THE COGNITIVE ANALYSIS OF THE ACTIONAuthor: CORREIDA DA ROCHA MONTEIRO RUTE CRISTINA. Year: 2005. University: HUELVA [ www.uhu.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACIÓN.
Summary: This study part of the problem of research: Â How teachers teach in the early years of professional practice? The practice of teachers can be analyzed from different perspectives. In this investigation, the attempt to access your understanding is through a cognitive analysis of the action or practice of the teacher as the main objective is to access the teachers thought and action. That is why we resorted to the modeling of teaching, based on the model Schoenfeld ( 1998) to analyze in detail the beliefs, knowledge and objectives of teacher underlying its action in a particular context of education. This model allows the cogniciones and action from action sequences included as routines and scripts for action. This study addresses two cases of teachers for basic education: results correspond with their respective models of education. Below are emerging theories of the case of these two teachers. This abstractions resulting from the application of progressive "filters" for the interpretation of these models. Finally completing recommendations on the results themselves and the research itself. In addition presents conclusions on the practical training, which draws some consequences for the initial and ongoing training of teachers and professional development from the teaching of science. L'EDUCACIÓ TO PREMSA DIÀRIA: A VISION OF PROFESSORAT OF SECUNDÀRIAAuthor: GARCIA FIGUERAS ROSA ANNA. Year: 2005. University: BARCELONA [ www.ub.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE PEDAGOGÍA. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE PEDAGOGÍA. Summary: The investigation is divided into a theoretical and practical. The first two chapters of the thesis are for the theoretical part. In the first attempts to give an overview of education and the current education system, schools and teachers. On the second try the media in general and the press in particular. The third and fourth chapter relate to the practical part. The fieldwork of this research tries to answer questions that we had initially raised: Do you published daily news about education issues?, Â what months of this year generated more stories related to education?, Â What is the valuation for secondary school teachers regard the daily press, "Do you were interesting news about educational issues published in the press?, Â what the newspapers that usually receive daily institutes is the most interesting from the point of view of education? . These and other issues working hypothesis interesting for our fieldwork. To answer these are tracks from four newspapers El Periodico de Catalunya, the Vanguard, l'Avui and País- for six months, and in parallel a sample of teachers from secondary will assess each month the news about education in different newspapers. In the third chapter we see the results of monitoring of the press during the six months and the fourth in the valuation of teachers regarding the press and the news. As a result of these findings have been drafted. Summary: That argument falls within the scope of international research on the subject educativo-ambiental, more specifically those focusing on the practice of teachers, considering the relevance of his thought and action for social-change processes. This is a research on the problem of integration of the Environmental Education on stage educativo-escolar addressed from the perspective of the protagonists of education, bearing in mind that the vision of the teachers introduced innumerable contributions to the understanding of various Events that occur within schools, because every teacher has their own references, knowledge and personal history. In this study, I choose to try the teaching practice and capacity for reflection, which has the same teachers as a dialectical unity. That is, we chose to address the practice of the teachers surveyed with regard to environmental issues as empirical foundation of the investigation, keeping in mind that teaching is a broader set and various implications, which is inferred as the Environmental Education a dimension of education, founded on the basis teórico-epistemológicas of education and environmental field. In essence, this research seeks to understand through analysis of the testimony of four teachers of Early Childhood Education practicing in Brazil and Spain, how they structured their practice with regard to the Environmental Education, and what are the characteristics of its action and his thinking. Therefore, it is intended to address the issue of the integration of environmental education in school curricula from the perspective of teachers, taking into account the resources methodological cualitativo-biográficos, since few understand the pattern of life of each person must consider in intimate social connection with the ecosystem in which it occurs and, therefore, can not despise each life course, is unique and unrepeatable is related to the circumstances socio-históricas in which it falls. Moreover, this approach could not be dispensed with social factors interact in the personal and professional life of the teacher, generating a dialectical relationship of mutual influences, with implications for their professional activity (Zeichner and Gore, 1990). This research is part of an ongoing and vigorous, in which the environmental issue is a subject of interest and social necessity. In this regard the inclusion of environmental education in the many areas of life and especially in scenarios educativo-formales, where teachers develop their professional activity, pointing an alternative to the latent evidence of an environmental crisis. Moreover, considering the impact of the work of teachers in the social sector and highlighted the problems, this research aims to contribute so important to advancing the socio processes, as well as the improvement of genetic and qualification procedures relating to the Environmental Education . |
