Summary: The educational institutions are facing today a very important challenge: to develop in students Informational Literacy (ALFIN), absolutely necessary in a world like the present where the volume of printed information doubles every 5 years and scientific knowledge each decade. One of the resources available to the educator for the development of ALFIN is the webquest. In an educational resource based on the constructivist paradigm, in that knowledge is built by the student, the teacher going to be a facilitated the learning process and leaving behind his back its traditional leadership role, and transmitter sole and exclusive knowledge . To develop webqueste attributes are the most important teaching experience and intuition teaching, many teachers possess good quantities of these qualities and therefore could create good webquest that motivasen its students to participate in the process of building its own learning. However, the elaboraciónd of this kind of educational resources presents considerable difficulty from the technical point of view, since it is necessary to know how to build a website. Using fluent in HTML or failing programs editing web documents and image editors and FTP client programs. All of this is exclusive to users who have at least one advanced level in the use of software tools, thus leaving many teachers without the ability to create their own webques. Against this background it seems that it might be desirable to develop software to develop webqueste to any teacher, regardless of their level of proficiency in the use of IT tools. This program was developed with the programming language PHIP within the free software and free with a web interface that we ensure that any user can access it regardless of the operating system installed on your computer. The result of the design process and the creation of this software is the PHP program Websquet which, in its version 2.0 is the most significant benefits: * Create Webquest, treasure hunts and miniquest without writing HTML. * There is no need to use desktop publishing Web pages. * There is no need to resort to external publishers images. * You can format the text easily integrated with a WYSIWYG editor. * It is unnecessary to use FTP client program. * You do not need to have a website in a hosting. * The activities created can be edited at any time by users. The basic idea of how the program is as follows: an Educational Institution Webquest PHP installed on your web server and creates authoritative account for their teachers. These teachers, with your user name and password, they can access the program and create their activities. The program, over a process of 6 steps can be performed in any order, is storing the data required in a database created on the server itself, leaving the data already available for use at the request of users it sailed through the Internet in its operating systems make the relevant request to the server. Thus, the activities created are available for any teacher or teacher when it sees fit, without the prior step consisted in obtaining space in a hosting and uploading files to the server. Thus, PHP Webqueste handles all the technical work, the teacher can focus on purely pedagogical.

Summary: New Information and Communication Technologies characterize the Knowledge Society, which is inevitably a learning society. But. Do you have teachers, especially those initial levels of basic education, prepared to meet the educational challenges that emerge from this new social environment? The problem of the NTIC is approached from a predominantly educational perspective, choosing the paradigm of television as a means of communication and information technology. The investigation focuses on public schools in Brasilia, Federal District (Brazil), seeking to capture the perceptions of teachers on the nature ay essence of the educational problems of the school, the education system, public policy, as well as the meanings intrinsic to the communication that will give the media and technologies representative of a cultural industry of global dimensions. The theoretical references rely on theories criticism coming from the so-called Frankfurt School, in its tracks directed toward communication and education, and educators who pose a function essentially releasing entire educational process, school or extra-escolar, especially Paulo Freire. Qualitative Methodology Based on the research focuses on the analysis of the speech to teachers on their own learning experience confrontándose with technological problems, mainly in the courtroom classrooms. Drawing on the Brazilian, including aspects of educational legislation, it outlines a proposal for teacher training for the critical use of media and technology, seeking a quality education, primarily for the people who are in public education only perspective inclusion in the knowledge society.

Summary: In this dissertation is aimed at research about the use of municipal Internet program that develops the City of A Coruna for the introduction of ICT in schools. In 1998, the Rt. La Coruna City Council took the initiative to establish the program Discover Infomática "Internet City" to the educational community (students, teachers, parents, etc.) have access to the habitual use of the resources that computers and the Internet offer. The main goal being pursued is to analyze the perception on ICT and deepen the powers qu presents teachers and students in relation to knowledge of the Internet and the "Discover Computers." All information was recogiad through two questionnaires, one for teachers and one for students with five sections each with the following designations: "Use", "infrastructure", "Training", "The impact on the teaching process - learning "and" Attitudes ". The data were analyzed using the method of principal components factor analysis, analysis of variance and analysis contrasts between the different variables selected from a representative sample of n = 624 teachers belonging to the levels of Ed. Child Ed. Elementary, Ed. Secondary Baccalaureate and FP Middle Grade and Higher and n = 2810 students belonging to the studies of Ed. Secondary, and FP Baccalaureate and Higher Grade half of the municipality of A Coruna a total of 64 centers affiliated to the program "Internet City". In order to carry out the calculations and statistical treatment of data using the SPSS program group, in the version 14.0 The results show that the greatest use to be given to ICT is based on information and documentary and as a follow-up the classroom. With regard to the Internet as a communication tool believe that facilitates communication and participation through msn, chat forums, email ... the Internet as an educational tool has a key role in the work, obtaining information ... Use Internet City (aula-net, NCs, educational portal ...) is low among the main obstacles highlight the process of passwords, slow, the operating system, etc. The results also reveal that the faculty believes that should have a period and needed more help teaching and specific training. Recognize possess basic training, which would be expanded, but believe they are unable to start their pupils in ICT. The students have some basic skills in the management of ICT, but felt it needed better training. As positive aspects in the process of ea believe that aid in academic performance, an effect tien motivator is a good complementeo learning and reinforcing the ability to relate concepts. As negatives stress that ICT can serve as an element of distraction, a waste of time that can lead to seek information and access and learning can be complicated if there is no basic training. We also note that the faculty and student body expresses an attitude collaborative, participatory and cooperative in the utlizar Internet.

Summary: This dissertation work focuses on the educational use of the Internet makes teachers as the highest representative of the Information Technology and Communications in the area of university education. The theoretical review of the literature is presented from a triple perspective: the social changes that have occurred in the Information Society; characteristics of ICTs and the Internet and its application to higher education, and a historical analysis of changes educational produced in response to the teaching resources of each era. Following the practical knowledge that has made research on the use of technology resources in higher education we know empirically what is the use of the Internet makes teachers in the classroom teaching taught at the University of Basque Country -Euskal Herriko Univertsitatea (UPV - EHU). It has conducted a study of descriptive nature. Through an online survey (Web) to the group of teachers have been collected data for the year 2003 on: knowledge of Internet applications (e-mail, web forums ..), accessibility to the telematic networks , quantity and type of Internet use, methodological actions under those contextualiza Internet use, attitude towards new technologies, vision, the possibilities of the networks, and the challenges and demands that have faculty on the topic . This information has been crossed with other survey data from past students on two specific areas: the use of the Internet compared to the rest of the resources and actions methodological where teachers contextualiza use. Among the most notable findings of this study, we found that the conditions for educational use of the Internet in the UPV are similar to those of other realities, so that Internet use takes place mostly outside the classroom as a tool in connection with educational activities, almost always from the perspective of consumer information and to a lesser extent in this production. Here are detected gaps in the knowledge of teachers on applications for this purpose (Create web pages, forums, chats, etc.) while they get a very high rate of domain applications directed to the search for information ( E-mail, browsers, search engines). A second implication of this work is that it opens the door to confirmation by the Internet (as a representative of ICTs) is serving as a catalyst for the methodological changes in higher education, to the extent that we find that teachers who use network (inside or outside the classroom) score highest in conducting educational proposals that make the student an active player. Finally, in response to the challenges and demands made for teachers around the educational use of the Internet propose and establish the foundation for operation of a new service in the UPV to respond to the training needs of teachers and advice on ICT.

Part of a study in situational learning environments for mid resource use computer, communication and multimedia, seconded Program Information technology constarricense, involving teachers graduates from the Computer Career Education at UNED Costa Rica. Through this first investigative situation is characterized pedagogical practice in regard to their educational goals or objectives, the types of content they pose, the characteristics of the routines or teaching practice and communicative relationships in the context of the Laboratory of Computer Science Education (LIE ). Furthermore, in order to achieve a complete picture regarding demonstrations or acts of nature education of teachers are considered variable elements that shape and who should respond in its educational endeavor. Subsequently, the second situation develops research, which relates to the development of the proposed methodology that response to the needs or deficiencies didactic nature. To build this proposal, it takes as its starting point the resources available to the Program of Computer education nationally and is the use of Microworlds and believes the objective, aimed at encouraging students in solving problems through programming computational. It follows a vision of the Didactics which operates on the basis of achievement of cognitive and metacognitive skills and organizing activities in an information system or set of structures and functions for which a subject performs deep intellectual processes. In this regard, it is problem solving, in the act of computer programming, as a situation involving use and apply different skills and cognitive and metacognitive skills of students in an active and strategic engagement.

Summary: The objective of this dissertation is to determine to what extent new technology (Web resources and online programs bocetado computer) are useful for the improved space capabilities required by the engineering profession. They have selected two test measurement capabilities (DAT-SR and MRT) and has conducted a field study with students first career at the University of La Laguna (also taken some of the data University Jaume I in Castellón and the University of Cartagena). First, we measured the capabilities of these students at the beginning of the subjects. Once analyzed resutlados were selected those whose results were worse and were divided among groups of improvement. Each of them have taught a course different from improving spatial skills. One classic techniques using pencil and paper, another through online Web resources and the third using the application e-CIGRO (tool bocetado computer developed by the group REGEO). Pro Finally, at the end of the course was returned to perform two tests to students. Our results indicate that the three intensive courses, improve the capabilities of space-based Lao students, getting some results very similar in all of them. It is also noted that there is a positive effect on the subjects of Graphic Expression on the improvement of spatial abilities of the students.

Summary: The autonomous language learning centers are self power in educational institutions, public and private, of the different levels of education for decades, remain very substantial investments made so far. However, despite the literature in this field investigaicón is very broad, accusing a lack of empirical studies that describe the operation and the current state of self-learning centers language in a comprehensive manner. In most cases, the published studies simply give visions, or highly theoretical, or very partial self-learning centers. Since existing studies analyzing numbers suffer from very low point, from educational and geographical too restricted in a globalized world, and to focus on a few aspects of centers, this project aims to cover Doctoral Thesis of this deficit, for what presented through three field studies in 32 centers self pointer at the international level (eleven centers self language in Germany and Switzerland, six in Hong Kong and fifteen in Spain) documentation on the type of test centers at present, and as a vision prospecta their future. Therefore, the objectives of this Doctoral Thesis are: * Establishment of solid theoretical principles to join the autonomy of learning, autonomous learning and self-learning centers in a single conceptual framework. * In-depth analysis of the centers of self language and its current operation at the international level, based on a series of field studies in self language centers of universities and institutions of adult education in Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Spain . The field studies of personal interviews with senior managers and self-learning centers language and content analysis of such categorical interviews, which deal with various aspects of such centers: attitudes of users and teachers to learning Self-strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, educational counseling, training in the field of independent learning, use of the student newspaper, materials, activities, evaluation of the learning process and assessment of the centers. * Study, as a synthesis of the common factors among these centers, through a study of contrastive SWOT analysis of the centers studied in Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Spain, in order to establish different levels of structuring teaching such centers. * Drawing conclusions and guidelines for action self existing centers and for those who can be created in the future. These lines include principles for the establishment of an optimal model of self-learning center for languages, as well as examples of good practice. * Determination of the proper role currently played in the centers of self language of Information Technology and Communication. (ICT). * Outline of a line of work for self-learning centers, as well as a line of inquiry for future studies in this field. To achieve these objectives, this Doctoral thesis proposes a field study of a large number of self-learning language (32), in different contexts (universities and institutions of adult education in Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Spain), through personal interviews with senior managers and (36 interviews with an average duration of 90 minutes) and on a wide range of aspects of the centers (9 thematic blocks with a total of 35 questions).
