PREIDENTIFICACIÓN OF CHILDREN GIFTED / ACE. INFLUENCES RELATIVES IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE SUPERDOTACIONAuthor: MANZANO FERNANDEZ AINHOA. Year: 2004. University: PAÍS VASCO [ www.ehu.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE PSICOLOGIA. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE PSICOLOGIA. Summary: This paper makes a preidentificación as many children in high capacities of 10 years, in the province of Vizcaya. They also do a comprehensive study on the variables of the systems in which they are the subjects, mainly on the family system, affecting the optimal development of the same.
DELAYED RECOGNITION AS AN ENDOPHENOTYPE FOR SCHIZOPHRENIAAuthor: ROBLES ARANDA OLALLA. Year: 2004. University: DEUSTO [ www.deusto.es]. Place of defense: FACULTAD DE FILOSOFIA Y CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACION. Place of preparation: FACULTAD DE FILOSOFIA Y CIENCIAS DE LA EDUCACION. Summary: This thesis has studied the recognition of non-verbal as possible endofenotipe cognitive for schizophrenia. This will have two tests administered reconnaissance nonverbal auditory and visual 5 groups of subjects. (1) 39 patients with esquisofrenia, (2) 48 subjects without a family history of schizophrenia and without personality traits of schizophrenia spectrum (CIO), (3) 22 individuals with no family history of schizophrenia diagnosed with CIO, (4) 31 first-degree relatives of patients with schizophrenia without CIO and (5) 22 first-degree relatives of patients with schizophrenia, with traits CIO. The inclusion of relatives of patients with schizophrenia assesses the extent to which non-verbal recognition deficits with auditory and visual materials are inheritable. Since there is evidence that there is a prevalence of CIO 2.5 times higher in families of patients with schizophrenia than in the general population, and that people with cognitive deficits CIO show similar to those observed in patients, the inclusion of individuals with symptoms CIO assesses the extent to which non-verbal recognition deficits with auditory and visual materials are affected by such symptoms. The results indicated that (1) Patients with schizophrenia have a performance deficit in both experimental reconnaissance tasks, as compared with healthy controls without CIO, or a family history of schizophrenia. (2) The yield on the two tasks worsens depending on the biological relationship with schizophrenia, compared with the subjects with no family history of schizophrenia. (3) These deficits are charged depending on the presence of CIO traits only in first-degree relatives of patients with schizophrenia, but not in individuals with no family history of CIO schizophrenia. Given that studies of cognitive relatives can only suggest, but do not confirm a genetic relationship, this theory suggests that (a) the fact that deficits in nonverbal recognition is transmitted in families, may be a marker of genetic vulnerability to schizophrenia and (b) the family with traits CIO have greater genetic burden associated with schizophrenia that the relatives without CIO, CIO or individuals with no family history of schizophrenia. In conclusion, this theory suggests that the use of non-verbal tests of recognition as a possible endofenotipo cognitive for schizophrenia may increase the power of the analysis of molecular genetics. ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER AND HYPERACTIVITY IN THE CLASSROOMSummary: The Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity (ADHD), for their ties to the neurological system, it crashes and concrete manifestations in school. The scientific and social interest that has ADHD is based on its high prevalence rates, the impact resulting in long-term and chronic nature. This disorder is a common cause in reference to family physicians, pediatricians, neuropediatras, psychologists and child psychiatrists. Its chronic nature makes the problem persists in disturbing proportions in adolescence and adulthood. Although the problems of hyperactive children often reduce their severity, many of their difficulties in adjusting sociopersonal persist in youth and adulthood. This research has three purposes. 1-To determine whether teachers in public and private schools in Puerto Rico know about ADHD. 2-Know what is the attitude they take to receive in the classroom a child with ADHD, or whose behavior might be associated with the disorder. 3-Share information and relevant findings on the disorder, its prognosis and management in the home and the classroom so that they disseminate to parents and teachers. Chapters I and II defines ADHD, using as benchmarks the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the AAP, approaches researchers and organizations. Chapter III and IV dealing with the evaluation and treatment. Chapter V describes the research methodology. Chapter VI presents research findings on the knowledge and attitudes of genetic schoolteachers public and private relationship with the ADHD. Chapter VII presents the findings of the investigation. It includes recommendations for teachers and parents for the effective management of the trouble at home and school. NEUROPSICOLOGÍA OF DYSLEXIASummary: The difficulties of learning to read, despite having a seemingly simple symptoms, if not rectified with the necessary rehabilitation, can create problems of great importance and of a different nature.  But how is this so?. Firstly, the difficulties in learning to read is a feature almost always inconsistent with good academic performance and behavior that is required in the school setting. If we bear in mind that school performance is one of the first, if not the first, evidence of personal worth experiencing child, and that the acceptance of fellow students depends on the child is a good or bad social autoimagen , is to understand the impact that I could get to take the development of the personality. No wonder, then, see, how, as they move the years, children not properly treated not only accentuate their initial symptoms, but also observe school maladjustment, behavioral problems, negative self-image, self-image wrong, and in some cases depressive symptoms. It is this phenomenon to what different authors have called snowball effect. Well, for some time now that Luria hipotetizó these subjects presenting difficulties in the acquisition of reading, it is because they are affected by what they call a "minimal brain dysfunction." Indeed, as the investigations that are reflected in the theoretical point of this thesis show that, actually, it appears that there are a few small malfunctions in the system neuronal functional language in the form of ectopias (clusters of neurons and glias outside place) and microgirios focus (distortion of the layers of the crust). What is not yet fully clear is the etiology of these minor shortcomings. So show us the results of these investigations, the time at which generate these microdisfunciones takes place during the migration cellular telencefálica which takes place between 16 and 24 weeks of pregnancy. But  What happens at that moment to produce these effects?. Therefore, this dissertation is a study conducted to test the differences between subjects normolectores and individuals with learning difficulties in reading from a neuropsychological. This was used as evidence of neuropsychological assessment, Battery Diagnostic Neuropsicológico Child Luria DCI, battery, which is presented as a useful tool for the diagnosis and accepted neuropsychological some specific child ages.
