Summary: This thesis examines the inequalities of power relations in heterosexual couples using as a theoretical framework Model Power Gender (Pratto and Walker, 2004) believed that gender inequality is based on four main grounds: the use of strength, control over resources, the asymmetry in the social obligations and the ideology of gender. The model predicts a dynamic relationship between the various power bases and that each base may be used as a way to get power in the others. In addition, the model suggests that the countless social obligations to women in connection with their partners and family (health care, education, and home responsibilities, etc.). Constitute one of the keys to explain its inferiority in terms to power (resources, strength and ideology) who wield within their partners. In the empirical part includes a first series of studies dealing with the perception of the power bases of gender in relationships. In this series began our research on the Model Power Gender analysis of the perception of power bases gender it postulated, as well as differences in the perception of these bases between men and women. In a pilot study identifies the constructs that describe the authors of the original model as power bases gender and discusses which of these bases differ more in the perception of men and women as stimuli. In primary research of this series we performed experimental studies on how the power bases posited in the model. In the second study and chief of this thesis applies the transfer or the relationship between the groundwork for a sample of actual couples. It examines the distribution of power bases of gender in a large group of marriages. Our sample (139 pairs) was composed of two types of couples, some in which both members work outside the home and others in which women were not gainfully employed and were housewives. This was discussed whether there was a different distribution of power bases depending on the employment situation of women. The most interesting results are, first, that the confirmatory analysis of the data suggests the relevance of the Model Power for the study of gender inequalities within the couple. Furthermore, it notes that the specificity involves the social obligations towards the other power bases. As had been postulated, there were different patterns of relationships between men and women bases in depending on the type of couple. Finally, the ideology of women appears to be an important basis in the foster social change towards equality of power between men and women.

Summary: The objective of this research was to conduct a description and analysis of treatment information that the press gives the news-related violence, under the parameters of the Methodology Observed. Using it to the Content Analysis, and technical research to describe in an objective and systematic treatment given wings news, and analysis of variability in estimating the different models that explain a high percentage of the variance in each of variables classification. For the selection of the sample were analyzed four large-circulation newspapers at the national level in Venezuela: El Nacional, El Universal, El Diario and El Impulso latest news, for a period of six consecutive months, and in total were collected 420 samples of newspapers and 1430 news related violence. Two observational instruments were developed: a system of formats and field a system of categories emerging parala description of the quantitative and qualitative results. Data were processed through the program SPSS, SAS, ATLAS / ti and GT. The latter is based on the Theory of Generalizabilidad and was used for estimating the reliability and generalisable designs measure for the sample of the study. The ATLAS program / ti was used for the quantitative analysis of the data. The results suggest that the press gives too much importance on developments related to violence, and treatment information of the news is sensationalist and loaded with aggressive terms, emphasizing the words designating verbal aggression, aggression toward other people, damage and violence general. It attributed as a cause that is contributing to the production of violence to social factors. Likewise, there were models that are in accordance with the General Linear Model, meaningful, reliable and generalize that explain the variability of violence in the press. The news seems to suggest that violence is the strategy used by these media as a teaser advertising to attract receivers more effectively.

The selection of nine variables study relating to volume, the intensity of the movement and activity tactic of the players, has been supplemented by nine other variables classification in order to describe different contexts competitive, which has allowed the player to characterize activity deep descriptive. The application of the techniques of analysis of variance of a factor, variance components and generalisability have allowed analyze the activity of the player depending delas classifying variables defined, showing the specific weight that each has in the variability of the activity delas combined influence classifying variables in each of the variables defined study, as well as the reliability and generalisability of the results obtained.
  • INTEGRATING LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOR AND CLIMATE PERCEPTIONS IN TEAMOWORK: ANTECEDENTS, STRUCTURE, AND INFLUENCE ON WORK GROUPS' INNOVATION, SATISFACTION, ADN EFFECTIVENESS IN ORGANIZATIONS

Summary: This study is based on a model from the operation of the teams working in organizations: the first axis model is the input or inputs, the background of the panels, the first to be considered is influential leaders the teams, leadership task and relationship, joined by the new construct of leadership change (Yukl, 2005), the three represent the first level of influence on group processes of the team: the second inning are the basic characteristics own teams work, considers both the size of groups like antigà ¼ age of the team members. The second axis is the group own processes, and the first one that has been more deeply analyzed in this study is the climate of equipment, and specifically a model environment for innovation team (West, 1990), composed of elements to participate, support for innovation, clarity of purpose or vision, and guidance to the task of the team members work. The other group studied process is the power group (Guzzo, Yost, Campbell and Shea, 1993), construct which is governed by elements of autoeficacia group level. To establish the mechanisms underlying elements of the first two axes discusses the hierarchical structure of leadership consists of three types of guidelines for conduct, and the structure of four factors equipment climate for innovation, which carry a line of excellent leadership at all levels and some innovative work teams highly efficient respectively. To test the usefulness of the proposed model has been used different measures of output or outputs, results of the work teams. External equipment (objective and subjective) on the actual performance of the groups, as well as a measure of performance for innovation. We also have seen results relating to the satisfaction delos team members, edited both from the level of individual and group analysis. We have used samples of operating hospitals, for a software company and public administration (N = 89, N = 239 and N = 20, respectively - level team, N = 409, N = 484, N = 209 at the individual level), as well as the original instruments suited to leadership (MLQ, Yukl, 2002) or climate equipment (TCI, Anderson and West, 1994). The analysis carried out ranging from factorials confirmatory test for the leadership structure and climate, regression to analyze the effect on the performance of teams, curvilinear features to influence the size of the team, or mediations and moderaciones climate and power group respectively on the leadership until models structural multigroup to analyze equations differences of the different types of teamwork due to differences contextual organization. Finally, the fundamental contributions of the thesis are on the line to confirm the widely proposed model for different organizations for different cultures, and stability of the structures of leadership and team atmosphere, influence of the leadership, especially the leadership of change, directly on group processes and these in turn on the outcome of the teams, the influence of non-linear size, the effects of climate quilo mediation and moderation of the protein group, all with significant implications for the operation of the teams working at the level of performance, innovation and satisfaction.
