Summary: The aim of the thesis is based on analysis of mortar found in the continuous coating of the buildings in the historic center of Valencia, and the study of possible application of mortar repair experimental proposed cal-puzolana. To do so, it must be borne in mind that any restoration work must be done first, a comprehensive study of characterization total originally found materials that are the subject of intervention, to then carry out a range of materials in order to properly repair that both types of materials should be consistent both physically and chemically and mechanically. In addition, materials should be chosen to provide resistance to pollutants present today, as well as the environmental conditions present at the scene of intervention. Therefore, the present study has been carried out first, a complete characterization of mortars found in the parameters of the buildings in the Historic Center of Valencia, located in four different districts: El Carmen, Velluters, and The Mercat Seu Xerea, dating from the late S. XVIII and principles of S. XIX. These buildings are grouped by types, classified according to the time and the various uses of the buildings. Therefore, attempts have been made to relate the composition of mortar with the typology. For the characterization of mortars have been used different analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis termogravimetrios (ATG), electron microscopy neighborhood (SEM / EDX), a measure of electrical conductivity and pH, porosoimetría by mercury intrusion (MIP), among others, and that the samples are drawn from small and rather heterogeneous pretendiéndose thus corroborate results using different techniques. Based on the results obtained in the characterization of morterios old.

Summary: This thesis explores the mechanisms of formation, structure and optical properties of nanoparticles of gold and silver. Following the introduction of Chapter 1, Chapter 3 is devoted to the study of the mechanism of the classic method of synthesis based on the reduced HAuCl4 with sodium citrate. Chapter 3 examines the spontaneous development of gold nanoparticles used as seeds in other synthetic methods. In Chapter 4 describes the formation of nano-aleaciones AuAg, its coating with silicon, their structure and chemical stability. In chapter 5 has designed a method of synthesis of particles with a structure of concentric alternate layers of each of these metals, has also studied its crystal structure and distribution atomic. In Chapter 6 lists studies, using transmission electron microscopy, the crystalline structure of gold and silver nanoparticles with different morphology (nanoparticles from the growth of seeds gold nanocilindros gold with non-uniform thickness and nanoprimas plant).
