    Summary: The dissertation 'The news via the Internet', is divided into two parts. The first, developed by the theoretical framework related to the presence of traditional media on the Internet, and the specification of the determining characteristics of a new medium of communication. The second, developed by the empirical study in which analyzes the supply information on-line traditional media Spaniards most representative at the national press, radio and television.     Summary: This thesis is born with the intention to contribute to the study of the body in the context of the science of physical activity and sport. This contribution is based on the analysis of body image in advertising for professional journals science of physical activity and sport as well as in magazines popular content. The theoretical framework is a journey through the different conceptions what about the body. The first chapter contains, through the study of different authors vision of the body along the history. The second chapter focuses on the media and the presence of the body ne them. It starts with a broad vision and general media, and then analyze the phenomenon of advertising and image relative to the body, stereotypes and the need to educate picture. Within the empirical study, including a detailed description of the various steps that have been followed in the investigation. The first paragraph makes a description and justification of the methodology used for obtaining and processing information. It has sought to clarify the concepts relating to the methodology by which falls this study, which is a kind of emerging research, with an initial exploratory phase of the different possibilities that emerged from the survey and that resulted in the analysis of the images fixed advertising.   • THE TELEVISION AUDIENCE IN CATALONIA (1998-2003). STATISTICAL STUDY OF THE LEVELS, VARIABILITY AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OFFER GENERIC

    Summary: The thesis provides a statistical analysis of the consumption of television in Catalonia during the years 1998 to 2003, the seven major television stations with national coverage and / or autonomic: TVE1, La2, TV3, Canal33/k3, Telecinco (T5), Antena3 (A3) and Canal Plus (C + analogue). The study is based on quantitative techniques, based on the results recorded by the audímetros installed in Catalonia by TNS Media Audience and the database of emissions for the entire period cited. Different viewing figures through their maximum values, medium and minimum, and is being investigated about the variability that exists in periods daily schedules (from 07:00-08:00 until 25:00-26:00 ) watching developments in various temporalities (annual periods schedules and overall).
