Summary: The central objective of this thesis is to integrate into a single analytical framework economic and sociological notions of social convention. To that end, the starting point is the conceptual distinction between convention-one to regularly conduct arbitrary and stable social convention-and-a principle of regulatory action that prescribes how comportares in a particular social situation. Then a theoretical framework is developed formal models using game theory to study the interrelationship between the two concepts and analyzes their evolutionary stability. Finally, this interrelationship is studied experimentally. The main resutlados of experiments are: 1 - The conventions regulations must be known and accepted for the subjects to act as guides for Coordination interindividual. 2-Once subjects follow a convention rules are fairly consistent with it against a background of repeated interaction. 3, In-class games considered in this thesis, the principle of efficiency plays a central role.
